For the next 5 seasons, it seems like Heat/Bulls contending for the title. Celtics/Mavs/Lakers are getting old. Rose still has issues. He's a ballhog right now, taking too many shots so his points aren't even close to efficient.
I'd be surprised if the Heat don't win at least 3 rings in the next 5 years, if not more. They'll just keep getting better with each year. Haslem will be back next year and they'll get to sign a new guy or two in the off season with their mid level. Can you imagine if they can somehow convince Chris Paul or some real PG to come over? Wade and James seem to be getting along now. Sky's the limit.
Rose kinda has to be a ballhog right now, only Boozer can create his own shot and he has been inconsistent at best. The Bulls really don't run any kind of offense, especially during crunch time. Tibs didn't deserve coach of the year, IMO. Those guys hustle and play great D, but he has pretty much neglected the other side of the ball. Rose has bailed him out up to this point, but in the next round it won't be enough as the Bulls will finally play a real defense.
While it was interesting to see Paul sitting there by the Miami bench the other day, I don't think he will play there. Nobody knows what will happen with the lockout looming, but one thing will be sure, the Heat (or anyone else) won't be able to load up on 4 max contract guys. Further, I don't know if Paul would be a good fit. Lebron and Wade are both high usage guys, so is Paul. There isn't enough ball to go around.
Haslem coming back will be huge for them, as will the development of Dexter Pittman. Don't forget about Mike Miller either. Both his hands are injured and he gets some PT, but he really can't shoot the ball. A healthy Mike Miller will make a huge difference for the Heat as he is one of the better rebounding SFs in the game in addition to having great size, good defensive awareness, and of course great shooting.
I don't think the Heat need a true PG, just keep running Bosh high post and have Lebron play baseline. The Heat struggled early in the year while Lebron ran the point, not because he wasn't good at it but because Wade was downright awful without the ball. Lebron was playing at a ten and Wade at a four. Taking Lebron off the ball leaves him playing at a nine and Wade at a nine. Wade just isn't good enough to adapt his game, whereas enough cannot be said in praise about Lebron's ability to completely change his game to make the team better.
