Holy shit - can this guy say anything right?

James agreed the loss felt like a ''personal failure'' but also said ''it hurts of course, but I'm not going to hang my head low.''

And he said he wouldn't let it bother him that so many were so happy to see him fail.

''Absolutely not, because at the end of the day, all the people that were rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day, they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today,'' James said. ''They have the same personal problems they had today. I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do with me and my family and be happy with that.

''They can get a few days or a few months or whatever the case may be on being happy about not only myself, but the Miami Heat not accomplishing their goal. But they have to get back to the real world at some point.''

Translation - get back to your shitty lives, you peons, and dream (if you can) about mine. I would wipe my ass with you if it wasn't a bother.

So because he is rich as hell and more successful than any of his critics are or ever will be, they should all just go away?

That is an intresting argument, no doubt. 😛

I wouldn't even put him in the top 50 all time at this point. Over-rated, over-hyped child-star. Has yet to prove me wrong.

Yeah, I guess he didn't take any public speaking classes or communications classes in college. 🙂

The only thing that will cure Lebron is to actually win multiple rings. Then, all this PR will turn the other way. Depends on the CBA, but I can see the Heat winning multiple rings over the next 5 years if they continue to improve their play and get more talent.

Dallas peaked at the right time, like Boston did in 2008 with their old guys. Dirk was crazy good for 3 games. Terry was on fire. Barea finally stepped up when he got moved to the starting lineup. Marion played great D. Even Cardinal stepped up.

Eh, they have a window next year but it's going to be tough even with Butler back. Kidd will be slower. Dirk will continue to play at a high level, which is tough at age 33. His advantage is that age doesn't affect height and his game isn't as based around quickness as a guard would be.

To be fair though - They may still have a window next year. Caron Butler will be back and healthy.

Anything beyond next year is probably stretching it.

Yup they did all this without Butler which makes it even sweeter but I honestly don't see them going this far again.

Question, why does James only give you $.75 cents back when asked for a dollar change?

Answer, because he doesn't have a fourth quarter..

When Jordan was 32 he was playing baseball. Lebron is 26. Jordan didn't win his first championship until he was 28. Historical context of moving pieces is difficult if not downright silly.

Jordan didn't win his first championship until he was 28 because he spent three years at UNC. How many years did LeBron spend in college?

err that was mildly funny the first two times people in this thread reposted the joke.

Credit due to the Mavs - not sure anyone here can legitimately argue that the Heat did not outplay them for the majority of the series, but the Mavs stepped it up when it mattered most, pulled out a couple close games, and then steam rolled Miami in game 6.

Plain truth is the Mavs just found ways to win - didn't matter if they were down 10+ or if Dirk was not playing well. Not gonna take anything away from their victory by blaming the refs, bad coaching, or singling out a player like Lebron. Dallas deserves their victory.

None. But an 18 year old Lebron is not comparable in skillset or experience to a 21 year old Jordan who just finished up his time at UNC. Most basketball players spent countless hours refining their game. A 28 year old Jordan has a few years worth of that refinement that a 26 year old Lebron does not.

If those few years didn't matter then why didn't Jordan get his first championship at 26 instead?

Too bad you weren't paying attention to context. Look at the question he was asked.

Do you think it is healthy or enriching for people to spend their time hating someone they will never meet? Someone who's actions or decisions in no way affect their lives? To actually get to the point of the question, should Lebron worry about people hating him or should he focus on his own life and goals?

Context brother.

That feel when Barea, Mahinmi, and Cardinal have more rings than LeBron James. Oh my this is glorious.

HendrixFan maybe you should detach yourself from LeBron's dick for a minute, seriously. Don't think he needs an internet defense force.

All I can say is...awesome finals. Trophy went to the team that wanted it the most, and played the hardest for it.

It's a great win for the NBA as a whole because for at least another year it shows that you can't just slap three superstars together and waltz away for a title win. Technically you could say Boston started it, but those guys were much older and at a very different level of play than Lebron, Wade and Bosh.

Hopefully it shuts up all of the announcers and analysts and bandwagon fans about "How can one superstar matchup to three of them"...blah blah blah. It's a 12 man team game.

Congrats to Dallas, it's players and fans. It was a great run with some insane comebacks and some amazing play from players that are barely household names.

Congrats to the Dallas Mavericks. I'd always been rooting for Dirk to get one, especially after Nash left. I'm glad he finally got it.

As for Le-loser, everything I'd wanted to say about him has already been spoken in this thread. I'll leave it at that.

same here, i'm glad my lakers lost to the team that won it all. dirk and kidd deserve one.

i hope riley surrounds lebron with better players, he needs more help than wade + bosh can give him , poor guy

Yeah, having only 3 superstars is pretty rough. Maybe they can trade for Kobe, Dwight Howard, Dirk, Derrick Rose, and Carmelo Anthony. Even then, it might still be touch and go. POOR Lebron! 😀

There's already people wondering if Riley wants to trade one of the big 3 for Howard or Paul.

One of the closing statements from Marc Jackson was "If I'm Pat Riley I'm picking up the phone and calling anyone I can to see who I can deal to make this team better".

I just had to laugh at the ridiculousness of that. They have three max contract superstars. And with the league owners wanting a hard salary cap good luck with that!

With the meltdown and attitude of James, that has to sour off some other players

I bet it was awesome, the only NBA game I have ever been to was there to see them play the Tracy McGrady Magic squad quite a few years back. I really wish that they had worked out some kind of deal to use Jerry Jones' stadium for the Finals. They could have packed that out and just maybe I could have afforded some tickets.

In order to use his palace, Jerry probably wants the whole sale proceed (tickets, parking, concession, sourveneers, etc.) and to be the GM of the Mavs plus putting his awesome madz skillz at drafting players....oh yes don't forget about camera time/interview minutes too

I'm curious what other NBA players think of the Heat. If they're put off by how the Heat superstars act, Riley might have trouble convincing championship quality role players to fill out the bench.

Dirk showed that greatness is sometimes earned late. I think Garnett, Allen, and Pierce can attest to that as well.

There was only one Jordan, Magic, Wilt, and Bird. The players of today wanna be like those players instead of just being themselves and making their own name. Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Hakeem, and now Dirk all became greats because they played to be the best they were. Not to be like someone else.

That's where Lebron misses it. Not a bad guy at all. The whole Heat thing gave him a bad boy image, but until he learns he has to rise to greatness in those few great moments, I don't care who he plays with, he'll be on the losing end. One great player can make a great team. He just hasn't learned that yet.

I think they have two more shots together, if they don't get it done, the Heat 3 will be broken up after 3 years I believe.
