On the topic of BIO stocks, check out GETA. Sure many of you heard of it, been running for up since last Wednesday at $.43

I'd stay away, between Android, iPhones, and the Pre, they're going to have a really hard time hanging onto market share.

The other shoe to drop is that sooner or later, we're going to see some very cheap 3G/4G phones with Android on them. The thing keeping no-name Chinese phones from being useable has been the OS, Android changes all of that...

I have AAPL & PALM holdings...

30 million shares traded by just after 10am! Stock down around 15%. Definately some big holders dumping.

My general feeling from the quarter was that RIMM is facing pressure to lower ASPs and that is hurting margin % and sales $. If this strategy was working, they wouldn't have been light on revenues and dissapointed on next quarter's revenue forecast. Hard to see an alternative though, they have to push to maintain/grow share. The Pre threat has now been discounted, but the iPhone threat keeps getting bigger and bigger. The biggest challenge I see would be VZ starting to sell the iPhone (LTE version). That would be a huge concern for RIMM and one I wouldn't like hanging over my head if I owned the stock.

No position in RIMM, VZ, or AAPL

Tentative settlement reached in Luna Innovations case
Roanoke company, California firm gain extension to Oct. 8 to work out a final agreement.
By Laurence Hammack | The Roanoke Times

Roanoke-based Luna Innovations Inc. has reached a preliminary settlement with a California company that won a $36.3 million verdict against it in a trade secrets case.

Luna and Hansen Medical Inc. "have developed a framework for settlement and would like additional time to negotiate and enter into definitive settlement agreements," attorneys on both sides of the case wrote in a letter today to bankruptcy Judge William Stone.

Although terms of the settlement were not made public, it appears to offer Luna an escape route from a verdict that had threatened to bring the company to its knees.

"This is part of a plan that has Luna emerging from bankruptcy and all of our creditors being paid 100 cents on the dollar," said Scott Graeff, the company?s chief operating officer.

After more than a week of intense talks, the two companies came to terms about 3 a.m. this morning, Graeff said.

"This is a big step for us to come to this point," he said.

Attorneys now have until Oct. 8 to draft a final agreement.

"We have to explode it into a 50- or 60-page document, but the attorneys have their marching orders: We?ve agreed to this," Graeff said.

Had a settlement not been reached, Stone likely would have either sent the case back to California or decided for himself how much of the verdict Luna must pay.

Luna and Hansen both develop heath care products, and in April a jury in Santa Clara found that Luna breached its contract and misappropriated trade secrets when it shared Hansen?s information with a third company.

Bio + Off-Road Buggies?!?

I'm a sucker for weird stocks :)

They just finished a reverse spilt. Consolidating for financial backers. There's 2 million shares, but the majority of them are being held tight and there's very little out there on the open float. I'm out after the financing goes through and the pent up demand goes away (maybe in a month?).

Azurik - Good purchase. Almost 50% gain for you.

75% gain now... did anyone else get in? 10 cents more and it's a double.

I am trying to, closed my energy & commodity stocks, but holding onto gold. Rest of the companies are situational based which i am going to be holding until that situation is resolved. ( like the court case for RMBS)

No killing here, sorry. It's in my system (along with a few thousand others) and I was simply 'alerted' when it soared. I shorted a little at 2.91 and bought it back at 2.56 for a small profit. I couldn't find news on it and rarely short stocks, but couldn't resist doing a little. I was fortunate to profit...I pulled my 1.89 and 2.38 offers on the run up before they got filled.

It hit a high of $9.90 today, an increase of close to 200x in just over two weeks:confused:

Good for you. I don't have the stomach to short. I got shafted quite a few times doing that awhile ago.

They did a reverse merger with SanWest, so they changed their ticker symbol to align more with what the company name is now.

Over a double in 6 trading days - now ya'll can still say I still have the magic touch ;)

Nice call Azurik. I just started to follow this thread, and bought 1000 at .91 just for the hell of it to see where a random ATOT call could end me in. Looks like a decent stock. But where exactly do you think it is headed? Nothing by analysts on this one, so looks like I will have to do the grunt work, which I am still weak at right now.

My only advice to you is to mimic everything I do and you'll be fine:D

I'm being sarcastic (only not really). I know what I'm good at when it comes to equities and focus on those particular stocks... mainly companies embroiled in big $$$ litigation. This stock was just to hold me over for the time being.

The average volume is getting higher here... under 100k 2 weeksa go, 150k last week, 250+ this week. I'll keep you posted. I'm upping my target for this to $2, but like I previously said, I'm selling my shares along the way to lock in profit and not get greedy.

I got in at .50, so my plan for the time being is:

sell 1/4 @ $1.15
sell 1/4 @ $1.35
sell 1/4 @ $1.75
sell 1/4 when financing goes through and/or volume momo changes
