Next stop $235-260 range...

Amazing in a shitty economy, people are still willing to pay $3000 for a laptop.

The iPhone is driving it's stock price & will be more of a factor in the EPS reporting with the new rule.

Currently they do subscription driven accounting for iPhone sales generated income, with the rule change, the iPhone sales will immediately impact the EPS, rather than 1/8 of the value of the sale per quarter (because of the 2 year contract with a new iPhone)

The App Store is also generating tons of cash...

I'm contemplating selling all my shares in ACF.
Average Purchase price of $4.48 overall since I've been buying a year and a half ago. I'm sitting on a paper gain of almost 300% in the stock.

The stock has surpassed my intrinsic value of $15.5/share.
The company now has a P/S of 1 and a P/B of 1...Wow.

Just sold off all my shares in TSRA. It was going sideways and I think I can put this money to better use in another stock.

I'm waiting to see if analyst day (tomorrow) gives them a bump.

This shouldn't be called the "Stock Market" thread, since 99% of the talk is people mentioning individual stocks and bragging about how much the made on it.

It should be called the 2009 Stock Speculation Thread.

It's doing well today - the question is.... did we miss the bus?

No, you didn't, the figures I saw indicate the price will go much higher.

With the new accounting rules, when the quarterly earnings are released on 10/22, the EPS will jump significantly, putting the stock squarely in the cross hairs of institutional investing spreadsheets, allowing a buy as it will show as significantly under priced.

Anyone else thinking of slowly pulling out of the stock market if the Dow surpasses 10k before the end of the year?

I am thinking the same thing. I am almost at the break even point with this recent run up and want to hold out till I break even before selling. Mostly like till middle of next month.

I've trimmed off gains here lately, couldn't resist. Got lucky with ACAS, and ran up with MET for 4/share. Got a bit defensive and threw a large sum into PG last week for the time being, as well as some other reliable dividend players.

Keeping about 5k in spec plays, and RMBS of course. More than 5k there tho lol.

I wish I would have had the guts to stay in TCK when I bought in under $5. It dumped and I bailed. Now it's over $25.
