another mover today: RTK is up 70% on news that it'll be supplying fuel for ground vehicles to 8 airlines at LAX starting in like 2012. The stock is recently up from the 0.5 range (jumped since then on approval of a synthetic aviation fuel & unexpectedly good earnings due to fertilizer sales); I picked up some shares at 1.28. Seriously considering getting more in the coming days.

The premium/votility is starting to run on RMBS before the trial starts next month (finally!!!!).

Jan $30 2010 are now $2.30. I paid .74 cents for it back at the end of May... essentially more than a triple on my money. Can't sell now though, judgement day awaits soon.

I haven't been active on here as much lately as some of you realized. Nothing is wrong, been busy with some Russian girls who are here on a work visa and just enjoying life. Waiting with extreme anticipation on this AT trial and what I'm sure will be a few big surprises along the way.

It appears that RMBS lost their lead attorney?

Text

Isn't this pretty significant? I guess you can look at it in two ways:

1. Settlement in the works
2. Disagreements or Crochett wants to move on

Anyone with any insight?

I don't think they ever intended for Joe Cotchett to be the lead attorney. The trial is too complicated, even for a famous lawyer like him. He had the political connections and know-how to make this trial come to fruition. He has to run the Madoff trial too. I think back then, they wanted Stone to lead the DDR2 trial and have Cotchett run the AT trial. Since the DDR2 trial has been delayed awaiting the CAFC appeal, it frees up Stone to do this.

I am hoping Stone become their lead. He is the one who convinced the jury to vote 37-0 for Rambus in Phase II of Hynix and had the jury in Phase III vote for Rambus within 2 hours after several weeks of testimony. By far, he knows the most about Rambus, along with Perry, our other lawyer.

Thanks Azurik for the info as usual. Good catch there! (the ladies I mean)

RMBS is up +8%, the word on the street is that a settlement with NVDA is in the works.

From Briefing:

13:44 RMBS Rambus shares running to HoD (High of Day) as chatter of settlement with NVDA makes the rounds (18.23 +0.95)

We know they have settlement conferences (3 meetings total) that was put in the schedule by the judge. If they do settle, it would be a nice surprise. RMBS will probably and pretty immediately go to $30+.

Set your stops tight :)

My long positions are kicking ass. A few months ago I bought a bunch of calls and they are all in the red unfortunately. Most are January 2011 though so we shall see.

It's $2.80 now... almost a quadruple :) ...and the volume on call options for the next three months are going through the roof. Last time we had settlement or buyout chatter the options didn't do much, but we're seeing very heavy activity.

Your Jan 2011's will do nice if we have a pretrial run like we did in '06. IMHO though, they're too far out in time and you're paying a lot for the time premium. With a bunch of cases slated to be decided by the beginning of next year and potential news, I would have taken the Feb 2011's when they opened up... if you wanted to be on the safe side. I think by January we'll have major developments either way. Gives you the best bang for your buck although now the price has gone up significantly.

Goodluck though!

Whoa, very exciting for RMBS. I spread across 17.5, 22.5, and 25 in mid-June. Looks like I should've been more daring, but I can't complain now! :D

Hopefully they release this number this week! before OpEx.

I'm up 9 fold in SIRIUS radio - 15,000 shares :) Quite nice.

Does anyone have any buy recommendations now than RMBS is out of the water? :)

Well if you're looking for a new ticker then I like FSLR. When it moves, it tends to move well. It may have found support where it is now, then again it may not have. I'm hoping it has and is ready for a bounce up.

C shows a really good BULL signal. Technicals indicate that it's headed for an incredible uptrend raising the "resistance" by at least 50% in the very short term even in this bearish market sentiment. The graphs shows pretty much where it's headed. I think it's a buy buy buy buy buy.

ICAD - a medical imaging company. Next week FDA approval should come in for their software that uses a CT machine to detect colon polyps. So instead of sticking a camera up your ass they just do a CT scan instead. Not just for the stock I hope this company gets their approval so the barbaric camera up the colon is fazed out :D

I have a question about margin accounts, the interest rate they charge, is it calculated everyday?
say i borrow $1000 at 7% interest rate for 15 days to buy stocks, how is the interest rate calculated for that?
