Anything yesterday was a good move it seems. I like banks now. Have for about 2 years actually. The fears of inverted yield curves, etc are already baked in. And even hurting the best-of-breed stocks like BAC and C.

Updated! I'm down for the year by less than half a percent. I'm still up on my non-retirement account... due to BDYT holding steady and other stocks staying pretty even. It also helped that I sold off Vanguard 2045 and VHGEX earlier in the week due to programmed trading (moving my account to Fidelity and their mutual funds instead of buying Vanguard's at TD Ameritrade). Planning to buy similiar Fidelity funds once the move has been completed.

Love these 2 stocks as well. BAC has a very good managment team. C should get better because Prince Alaweed is pressuring Chucky. Either Chucky will step down or Citi can break itself up. Either scenario would be good for Citi stock price.

I had my ROTH IRA account with Datek, which turned to Ameritrade, which turned to TD Ameritrade for ages. Back then, mutual fund transaction fees weren't bad at all, and their commission for stock trading was good. Now that they charge $49.99 for mutual funds, I can no longer see the benefit of staying there. So I sold out of my mutual fund positions and transferred them to Fidelity. Fidelity and Vanguard, on a lot of similiar funds, have fees that are extremely close to one another. I chose Fido over Vanny because my 401k and main savings account is with them. Fido gets cheaper with more assets you hold with them, and having them all in one screen makes it easier on me.

When they have 4%+ yields and payouts that are increased by about 10% annually .... I find myself having an easy time sleeping at night.

Depends on what kind of growth rate you need to meet your goals I suppose. mid-cap should outperform large cap.

Nikkei is down 500 points already, decline of over 3% in two hour of trading.

We've got a lot of economic indicators coming out this week, theres bound to be volatlilty.

I bought BA on the dip, a few days later Kuwait Air and Contiental announced 787/737NG orders.

I bought CVX on a flat day, this morning after analysts conference - the stock had some movement. Before the conference let out, I put my stops in and was hoping to get a point out of it but I would up taking $.50 before getting stopped out.

After getting stopped out on CVX, I took BP at 60 on the dip. When inventories come out later this week I'm expecting pressure on crude to bolster the integrateds and I'd like to get a point or two out of BP by Friday.

I live in CA so Im keeping my powder dry until 2009, at which point Ill buy my dream house regardless of the direction of the market. I figure by then, prices will have fallen off enough and it'll be time to settle in somewhere permanent.

The latest "good" prediction for a bottom to the housing bubble burst is mid-2008. Most are predicting the end of 2007 as the bottom and the the bottom won't b seen till a time later than this summer.

Housing bottom will be between July 207 and July 2008. Most likely be September 2007. Months are just estimate I made up.

It will vary region to region and no one really knows. Best one can do is keep their powder dry and ready for bargains when time comes like Slew Foot. My current home will be paid off in late 08, and I will likely buy a vacation beach condo on the Florida Gulf coast sometime in 08 or 09. Til then I'm saving my money and keeping eye on the listings.

Busts always take longer to finish than people expect, especailly with a slow moving illiquid assest like housing. If you look at long term housing boom bust cycles, historically the bust takes as long to finish as the boom, which would put the bottom at around 2010 someitme.

WIth subprime bitning the dust and stricter lending standards going into place, there arent enough people with $$ to absorb the inventory thats around.
