Big Shot Robert Horry. We loved him when he was on the Lakers, and now San Antonio is seeing just what an asset this man is during the playoffs. He singlehandedly saved our butts numerous times, and what you saw tonight is what Laker fans have already known for years about this guy. He defines the word clutch, no basketball player in the NBA right now comes even close.

Great game overall, easily the most exciting of the playoffs. Game 6 should be great, expect Detroit to come out swinging.

Game 4 of the 2003 Western Conference Finals on May 26, 2003. I. Was. There. :D

Err game 4 of 2003 western conference finals? what happened? I know it couldn't have involved robert horry, he was still a laker that year. and that year the west finals was mavs vs. spurs.

as for robert wasn't the one vs. the kings better? where I think kobe drove or it was dumped into shaq, one of them misses and divac taps the ball out only for horry to stand at the 3 point arch and nail the buzzer beater. if he missed the lakers would've been down 3-1 but instead tied the series.

I meant 2002! :p

But I was there that day. Sitting behind the benches, a little towards the Kings bench, on the side he made the shot.

ouch. damn.

everyone in the entire arena saw that one coming. :(

"guard the guy throwing the inbound pass" especially if it's Horry.

amazing game, but i'm not counting the Pistons out yet. there's still plenty of game to be played.

Horry said he wasn't expecting it and was surprised that sheed ran at ginobili. Don't get me wrong, spurs fans were hoping horry would get it, but even the spurs didn't think sheed would be that stupid.

The game plan was to make a drive at the basket with enough time for a tip at an offensive rebound. Horry wasn't going to pass up the shot tho. :D

Can the Pistons win two games at San Antonio where they've lost 10 straight?? I think not. I was very disappointed with Hamilton and Rasheed tonight. They should've been more aggressive.

I think the pistons are gone now...billups sounded somewhat crushed.

I thought they were done after game two as well, so what do I know.

can the pistons get some respect from all the so called experts who were saying the Spurs were in a different class than the Pistons?

anyways, the Pistons have been counted out too many times for me to consider them done. they lost game 5 (3OT) vs. NJ during last season's playoffs and came back to win 2 straight. they lost game 5 vs. Miami this season and came back to win game 7 IN miami.

it's not over yet...

oh, I've got plenty of respect for them [now]! :) They impressed the hail out of me since they got back to detroit. What a schizo team...a mediocre playoff run, 2 horrible performances in SA, and then coming back and owning the spurs.

They should have won tonight and would have in not for the miracles of horry.

If it goes to game 7, it could be anyones game, so lets see what pistons team shows up in SA this time. ;)

Even tho sheed made the biggest mistake of the game, Lindsey Hunter should be the goat. His minutes were mostly useless and mistake prone. For the short bench that Brown uses, there's really no room for a guy like him to not show up.

Horry's end-game antics are the stuff of legend. Big Shot Bob ++++ I just don't know how the heck you leave that guy open... at least get a hand on him and make him shoot 3 from the line. oh well.

I hate Timmy though. Sorry Timmy fans. He just reminds me of a giant kid and he can shove all his fundamental whiny crap up his arse.

 to the Pistons for making a series out of it... it's been very entertaining!! Well, if anyone has the heart to pull this series out, it's the Pistons. They play well with their backs to the wall. They need to dominate the boards like they did in game 4 though - last night especially in the first half, they weren't doing much on the offensive boards.

Before everyone dumps on Duncan too much, don't forget that he did get 19 rebounds. That's more than the Wallaces combined. Yes, missing clutch free throws is bad, but he was never a good free throw shooter.

Also, I agree that Detroit is a schizo team. However, they're best when they're down like this and everyone's counting them out. Will it be tough in SA? Sure, but Detroit is a well balanced and well coached team like SA. I expected a 7 game series at the start and am still expecting it. Let's hope that there are no more blowouts.

quoted for truth. I did not anticipate that play, but immediately before time-out ended all I was thinking of was "guard Horry guard Horry". And they left him open. Ginobli and a few others are good three point shooters but they don't have experience/guts and will have choked. Who would want to put themselves in the position of attempting a three point shot when they were two down, and missing and losing the game (and possibly the championship for them) None of them would even dare. ONLY FREAKING HORRY HAS THE EXPERIENCE AND GUTS!!! Yet you leave him alone outside....stupid. LB was PISSED

This is what actually worries me. They keep saying we are best when are backs are against the wall. Can't you play without your backs being against the wall? One of these days it will bite them in the butt and I fear the time is now. If it goes to 7 I believe the pistons will win (a win in 6 will boost their confidence) But I and inclined to say that the Spurs will win in 6.

i'm glad to see that much.

as a piston's fan (along with many other pistons fans here), i was so tired of hearing about how the pistons were a fluke and only won because of the opposing team's injuries. then SA wins two straight at home and everyone is like "i told you so" and "the pistons aren't even in the same class as the Spurs".

at the very least, i hope that the Pistons garnered some amount of respect as a legit elite team in the NBA. and unfortunately, they needed a win this Finals or a very tough series to validate last year's championship.

The pistons are an elite team when it comes to regrouping and focusing in critical situations, really amazing. However I think it is their lack of ability to focus in non-critical situations that is what has killed them so far.

As much as their turnaround has been remarkeable, it literally makes their game 1 and 2 efforts half-@ss, which must have been to an extent if they are able to play this well now.

Losing last night was a typical finals game...exciting and 'anything can happen' when its close at the end...all teams are vulnerable to losing in a game like last night...but the first two games are almost inexcusable in hindsight, and if they lose the series, they have noone to blame but themselves imo.
