Three things:

#1 - No Avs in the playoffs. HAW HAW!

#2 - I will be at as many home playoff games as the Thrashers play in my pimpin' season ticket seats!

#3 - LET'S GO RED WINGS!

Aww, too bad the avs lost. If they won, that avs-flames game would have been one to see. w00t for Canucks being the division champions!

Golf Stars Golf !!! :D :D :D

I wish your team luck against the Stars. I didn't expect a Sharks victory on Saturday and I'm glad we got a point since we'll be facing Nashville in the first round. I really didn't want to play against Luongo in the first round. Best of luck to all the teams in the playoffs!

Go Sharks Go!

Eh, call that penalty a "crime of passion". ;)

Anyways, the Sharks had nothing to lose as soon as OT started. We got our point to clinch 5th. ;)

Man I have to feel bad for the Islanders. They were ONE SECOND AWAY from being in the playoffs, and now they're fighting to stay alive in OT.

On the other hand, what a rollercoaster of emotions for the Toronto fans.

My parents were at the game, but they left before the Devils scored their first goal.

Edit: Islanders won the shootout. gg Islanders. Sorry Leafs.

And, yet again, another hopefull Original 6 Stanley Cup Finals is dashed against the shores of reality. What true hockey fan wouldn't want to see the Red Wings vs the Maple Leafs in the Finals? Now I have to 'hope' for the Rangers. Sheesh.

Best thing about Easter gatherings...

Watching all the hockey and golf while eating and drinking beer :)

Happy Easter guys!

Watched Leafs / Habs - wow what a game but no defense at all so it didn't matter. Watched the 3rd of the Avs / Nashville. Sorry Avs fans... watched Edmonton / Calgary and the Oilers proudly screwing themselves out of the draft lottery... today flipped back and forth between the Masters and Isles / Devils... wow, what an Easter. Time for some surfing :)

Let's go playoff time

As a Detroit fan, the Maple Leafs were always my second-favorite team growing up. I guess it was just the sweaters and seeing them on HNIC every Saturday. I still like them, but I support the Thrashers moreso than the Leafs nowadays since I live in Atlanta and have season tickets.

I sort of wanted to see either the Leafs or the Habs make it, but I don't really care. Just would have been nice for one more Canadian team...

I don't understand why so many Canadians will cheer only for another Canadian team if their own doesn't make it.

I have to say that this alone is the only thing I hate about playoff hockey. It's not enough that 75% of the players are from Canada and that the cup will make many trips to cities in Canada. As a baseball fan I would never root for the Yankees to beat the Blue Jays just because the Yankees are a US team.

I feel significantly better about the Habs not making it now that the Leafs are out. I'd much rather see the Isles in the playoffs than the Leafs, especially after Leafs fans practically threw a parade after their win yesterday. Not that it really would have mattered, any of these teams would lose to Buffalo in the first round; though I think the Habs would have had the best chance of winning a couple of games.

Last year when the Oilers made it to the Cup final, everyone was behind us, even the Flames fans. Back when they made it there against the Lightning, I was rooting for them to win it too. Wanting the Cup to come home to Canadian soil is just part of being Canadian.

mpitts: You're quite right, it's not enough :)

That cannot happen. If Buffalo wins a championship the city will burn to ashes and the entire eastern seaboard of the US will fragment off and careen into the Atlantic ocean.

Go talk to Bruce (Almighty). :)
