agreed but to get this version of office for this price is a steal.

man I get the same version and vista for that price through school, office might actually be free.

But I have them both on my laptop now, and I'd be much happier if they'd charge me an extra $5 for XP and 2005

I got office 2007 from my work for $20, office 2003 from uni for $7, win xp from uni for $6 and vista ultimate from uni for $20.

OpenOffice is a slow, bloated, Java piece of crap.

I got the same thing from my work, LOVED it. I wanted to sell it (they go for like 700 bucks don't they?) but got too worried whoever bought it would get screwed and not be able to use it for some reason.

meh, I can say the same about office 2007 too. it takes forever it seems to draw the ribbon interface. I love the interface, just wish it didn't seem to bog down the system. sadly, office 2008 for mac is just as slow.

hmmm... i just got an e mail from work that we're able to use this, and i guess i should jump in... but there's a disclaimer that says "you must return the software when you leave the company". (how can they enforce this?)

it's 9.95 for the product key and you get to download it, and then another 12.00 for "backup dvd" according to MS HUP website. One copy per team member.

we're also in the EPP program, where we can keep the license for MS products forever... i guess you have to pay more for this. epp.microsoft.com

I have it on my mac, but only cuz it's free and I don't do work on my mac.
