Got it and a key. It is 600+ MB. Can't be a lot different than 2007 - but - why not. Gotta get my money's worth out of the annual subscription. :)

Thanks Mr. Clark!

OK - what is the approved drill for installing if Office 2007 is presently installed? A direct upgrade, or, uninstall 2007 first?

I just got office 2010 through technet as well. I wonder when April 30 roles around for the additional key releases. Will other versions of office 2010 show up on the technet as well?

From my experience, I ended up uninstalling 2007. The upgrade path left too many residuals of 2007. I had to restore my Acronis Image and start over.

I had exactly the same experience. 2010 got all wrapped around the axle with my PDF programs, and opted for the wrong one - and the other kept popping up a message too quick to read what it said.

I quickly reverted to my backup drive. Now am starting over. I will uninstall all of the problem programs and then put one of them back in afterwards.

Microsoft is remiss in not including a file on how to do the upgrade from 2003 or 2007.

You also have to realize that Technet is aimed at IT professionals for testing software. Office 2010 is not supposed to be available to the general public until June I believe. Therefore you will find that not all documentation is available yet. They do have some documentation available though. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624354(office.14).aspx

Oh nice. I just formatted too. Can't wait to give this a whirl when I get home.

I didn't try the beta at all since it seemed a lot like 2007. Are there any real differences for the non-technical user? All I use is Outlook and the occasional Word or Excel spreadsheet.

I think the biggest changes that everyone will notice is the programs that did not have the ribbon before have it now, ie outlook, one note.

The other change is the Office "Button" is gone from the upper left, replaced by the File menu which has been referred to as BackStage. Basically, when you click the file menu, it takes up the whole screen.

let's see..in outlook you can set up more than 1 exchange account without using multiple profiles.

Also, i love this - you can finally view conversations in threaded format like in gmail.
