From my experience, I ended up uninstalling 2007. The upgrade path left too many residuals of 2007. I had to restore my Acronis Image and start over.
I had exactly the same experience. 2010 got all wrapped around the axle with my PDF programs, and opted for the wrong one - and the other kept popping up a message too quick to read what it said.
I quickly reverted to my backup drive. Now am starting over. I will uninstall all of the problem programs and then put one of them back in afterwards.
Microsoft is remiss in not including a file on how to do the upgrade from 2003 or 2007.
You also have to realize that Technet is aimed at IT professionals for testing software. Office 2010 is not supposed to be available to the general public until June I believe. Therefore you will find that not all documentation is available yet. They do have some documentation available though. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624354(office.14).aspx
Oh nice. I just formatted too. Can't wait to give this a whirl when I get home.
I didn't try the beta at all since it seemed a lot like 2007. Are there any real differences for the non-technical user? All I use is Outlook and the occasional Word or Excel spreadsheet.
