The common ingredient in all Sodas/Pops, is Soda Water (unless I'm mistaken like I questioned earlier). So that's the reason for categorizing them all as "Soda" since that is their shared ingredient, and the main constant of the recipe. Where does "Pop" come from? From when you used to "pop" open a bottle of Soda?
no because the bubbles in POP fizz and go POP hence the name, pop
