Nomar is that you?

oops repost. im a noob

anyway

SPEED when was the last time you hit 40 homers and drove in 130?
When was the last time ARod ever closed out a game with a one run lead in the last inning? Or batted .522 with a 100% stolen base ratio? Or best of all, play the game for fun and not worry about cheating to win, and playing the game the way it was meant to be played? ;)
Dude if you were half as good as you claim to have been you would have starred on varsity and gotten some kind of scholarship, even if you are a small guy.
Well, I didn't play my senior year which pretty much killed any chance playing for college. I had this g/f... and... need I say more? Women can only hold you back at that stage in your life.

You keep getting more and more ridiculous, I love it. Keep your life story coming it is definitely hilarious and worth reading in the OFFICIAL ALCS thread.

Cabrera's slide was a very good attempt to break up a double play. Yes, he was trying to intentionally break up the double play. He just did a pop up slide, he has every right to be there as Cairo does. It's Cairo's job to make the throw and get out of the way but he forgot about the getting out of the way part. That's just baseball. You saw wrong.

Well, she moved to the shore and I would cut class to get some (it was about an hour drive). Because we were "in love". Funny, isn't it? Then she started hangin' out with druggies and she decided that drugs were more important than our relationship. My dad was pissed that I didn't play baseball, and I definitely regret it because I probably could have college ball either as an outfielder (leadoff type, very fast, decent power, strong arm) or a closer. Although I'm not sure that you could close in college only throwing 80mph, but I saved 3 of 4 games for V while they were flipflopping me from JV/V then back to JV that year, so you never know? Then freshman year I enjoyed partying/hangin with girls to much to really care about walking on. I tried to find a league here in MD that plays hardball for 20 somethings, but the only sport is "softball", otherwise you would have to drive up to B.More or DC to play (1.5-2 hour drives). Not to knock the softball, but it doesn't compare to baseball.

in other new, go india, beat australia in the third test (cricket ;) , bring on the aussies ;)

i have heard of the cricket series .... is India one of the better cricket teams?

well they are definetely one of the better ones (and one of the best playing at home), Australia is by far the best, but India is very good at home (and traditionally suck away from home), but on the last tour of Australia, India almost beat the aussies, so this home series is very exciting, also australia has won in every country except India, some people call it their 'last frontier'

right now India is down 1-0 in 4 test series, 2nd test was headed for a close finish but the last day got rained out so it was a draw

Wow, I had completely written off this series as a blowout by the end of Game 2. Now we're going to Game 7! I'm a Baltimore fan, so I'll be cheering for the Red Sox ;)

Tough call on how tonight will work out. One things for certain, this loss will be DEVASTING for whichever team has to suffer it. Moreso than a normal Game 7 loss, I think.

Well, that sucks.

I had an ex that played competitive softball (sponsored league, town vs. town) and she was the best damn athlete that I ever met. The games they played were amazing. I would never say jack about fast pitch softball.

Ocean City, she went to OCHS after Lenape. Only went to LBI a few times, but really liked it. I remember driving out there from Route 70 to the Red Lion Circle to the road that goes to LBI, really fun drive. They always had those crab houses along the way...

I'm gonna be honest, I try not to be too biased, but at this point I have an extreme dislike for, among others, ARod and Sheffield (and, to an extent Jeter). ARod, he just always looks like he's in a terrible mood, Sheffield because he supposedly called the Red Sox pussies (or something close), and Jeter because everybody likes him so much. I didn't like seeing him walking around the dugout like an idiot, waving his hands indicating that ARod was safe (and I wouldn't like this type of thing on either side, the way Jeter was doing it made him look way too cocky). This coupled with the fact that everyone thinks he's so great in the clutch when this year he has been terrible, and on his career his numbers in the playoffs are AFAIK worse than his numbers in the regular season, he's just been there so many teams because he's on the Yankees.

I probably would not like Arod as a person from what I can see, but I don't know him at all as a person. I think his play yesterday was terrible and classless, kind of a high school attempt. But I will love him if he hits a game winning homerun tonight. :)
Sheffield denies he ever made those comments. His word against theirs, believe who you will.
Jeter is a complete class act, I have no problem with him at all.

Jeter is a career .315 hitter and has a postseason batting average of .307.
He's clutch.

Do you deny that Bronson's finger could have been in the least sprained/dislocated? Just b/c it wasn't, doesn't excuse the act. That's like saying, well the drunk driver luckily didn't hurt anyone before he was arrested, he just ran into a tree... Fact of the matter is, he could have hurt someone...

Not losing my temper at all, just getting annoyed at your ridiculous assertions (as are many others, not just me). Arod wasn't trying to hurt anyone. Your comparison to a drunk driver defies any kind of logic. These are grown men playing this game. The little slap on his wrist did nothing to hurt him. NOBDOY is trying to make that accusation besides you. If someone on the Red Sox thought so, I guarantee you would have heard it from Francona during his press conference. It's BS, plain and simple. Just drop the injury talk, it makes no sense.

Actually, is Sp33demon's defense, Millar did say what ARod did was unprofessional and uncalled for. something along those lines, I heard it this morning on the radio. That being said, I don't agree with Sp33demon or Millar. It was a desperation play that he got caught on. If anything, the chances of a hard slide injuring a SS or second baseman are much higher. For the record, I am a big red sox fan. I just think we're all losing the focus of game 6. It was schilling's night that is gettin overshadowed by an initial miscall that was later corrected.

Everyone is overreacting. He didn't hit him in the face or anything, if he wanted to hurt them, then just run right over those two weaklings since they were in the baseline.

Oh my goodness, I just reread that and you said JV, as in NOT varsity. WOW that is hideous.

Go crawl back under the rock you came out of or stop defending a cheap shot artist.

ARod did nothing to warrant an ejection, suspension, or anything like that. He got out, Jeter was sent back to first. The umps did the right thing -- END OF STORY.

Oh, and go 'Stros!

Don't let one poster turn you away from the light side? :) As far as rules go nothing should be done, (as you said the umps got it right) but character and sportsmanship is a different issue.

A-Rod is a complete waste, I agree. I put Sheffield in the same class as Bonds: a jerk perhaps, but he plays hard and walks the walk. Jeter is the perfect guy to root against. In all honesty he's a good player, team leader, and since he hosted SNL I think he's a nice guy with a sense of humor. I hate him 100% because he is 100% Yankee. If he played for Texas or the Angels my feelings may be much different.

Just noticed something today. If Boston and the Astros win we'll be facing a team full of B's in the WS. Might be rooting for the Cards now.
