no problem.
it (in my opinion) just gets a bit boring in here, congratulating everyone on their stats.
don't worry, i'm not knocking that, in any way. people deserve recognition for their contributions!

but, there doesn't seem to be much happening on the dc front that's worth talking about.
apart from stats.
and, if all you can read on here is about stats, well......:(

anybody got a hot cattle prod for some dutch cows?
or, something like that??
:)

I don't know about you guys but I'm looking forward to seeing what GT300 will do for F@H.

Next week I'm stepping up my 9800GTX+ to a second GTX 260/216 so the ppd should go up a bit more. Then maybe toward the end of the year I'll nab a GTX 360 (or whatever) to replace my G92 8800GTS and the ppd should really crank up a notch.

I'm sorry, but posts relevant to Distributed Computing are frowned upon in Off-Topic threads.

:disgust:

Just Kidding. But I did think I was in the wrong thread there for a minute. :Q

The Laws of Parenthood
There is the Law of Gravity, and then, there is the Law of Parenthood

A child's behavior will improve in proportion to the distance she is away from the parent.

Two is equal to two, except when referring to time. Two minutes of tantrum lasts 20 times as long as two minutes of quiet time.

The choice of a preschooler's best friend corresponds directly to the distance the friend lives from your house.

A child's enjoyment of a popular entertainment will be inversely proportion-ate to the parent's enjoyment.

The chance of a surprise visit by your parents-in-law is directly proportional to the size of the mess in your home.

A child will always eat exactly what she has loved for the past year unless it is the only food in the fridge.

The ease with which a toddler acquires the ability to say a word increases with its likelihood to embarrass a sailor.

In my buddy-list I see some crunchers logged in I have longed to see:

Freewolf, GLeeM, RaySun2Be ...

I wonder when GeoffS, networkman, Smoke, Wolfsraider, amdxborg will light up...
Some of them post now and then, but I miss their posts ... and the posts of quite a few others.

I am quite mellow now - I may have had a beer or two too many ... ;)

Not really.
Only of us old dinosaurs. Also missing MechEng ...
The new birds are singing nicely though - and crunching most effectively.

Shoppin' with Granddad

Grandpa was always going on about the good old days and the lower cost of living, in particular. He would often say, "When I was a kid, my mom could send me to the store and I'd get a salami, two pints of milk, six oranges, two loaves of bread, a magazine and some new blue jeans all for a dollar!"

Then Grandpa said sadly, "You can't do that anymore. They got those video cameras everywhere you look."

:Q

QFT = Quoted For Truth

Oh yeah, that one too. QFT!

QFT = Quoted For Truth is the one I'm most familiar with as well.

I wish I could get the webcam on this netbook working (it's not broke--purely operator error). I'm posting from my favorite bar in San Marcos... Been a while since I've been here though.

ROFL I thought the first one was inversely proportional... And I honestly laughed out loud at the last one. And I have a loud laugh. I should record it sometime and post it here.
