Boy i hope more conservatives come into this thread, i want to feast on your tears over the fact that i have, yet again, vanquished a couple of your brothers.

When will you morons learn not to fuck with me. EVER.

You are stupid as hell, the president doesn't need congress authorizing anything to go to war. In fact, even if congress passed past bills to limit the president's powers to go to war, the president's inherent standing as the commander-in-chief allows him to override that. I recently took a law class and this is something that we were lectured on. Continue posting your ignorance though, this is entertaining.

Awww, Genx is mad again. My professor specifically lectured on this topic. You trying to go toe to toe with me is like you looking at a hornet's nest and thinking, 'gosh, i wonder if it's a good idea to stick my dick in it' and then you actually do it.

Here, learn some more you ignoramus:

When are you going to learn not to debate me EVER? You always end up looking the fool.

Yes, the President needs Congressional authorization to enter into war. The Constitution makes this clear.

The exception has long been that the President can act unilaterally if need be to protect the USA and/or its interests. Back in the day it could takes many weeks to convene Congress so the President, under his constitutional responsibility, could act without approval to defend. Similarly, today an incoming missile attack requires a response in a matter of minutes, too fast for Congress to convene.

And the article with all this talk of no Congressional declaration of was since WWII is so much superficial nonsense.

Congress has used AUMFs dating back to the late 1700s. It's been long established by the courts that an AUMF is the equivalent of a Congressional declaration of war for constitutional purposes, at least as regards the requirement for Congressional approval.

(There are some differences between a full-blown declaration of war and an AUMF, and, IIRC, aside from the ability of the President to suspend habeas corpus they are all relatively minor.)

The 800 LB gorilla in the room (beside the Constitution) that nobody is noticing in all these claims that President doesn't Congressional approval is that the President needs Congressional approval for funding. You can't go to war with no money or budget. So, Congress can stop a President any time they truly want to; just authorize no money.

Again with the Chewbacca defense. It's pretty simple, you made a claim, i showed your claim was false with actually backup. Now you're trying to change the subject, yet again, because i bitch slapped you into orbit.

Also, lol @ you coming to Genx's defense when he a) got his ass kicked in an intellectual discussion and b) went off the deep end. Are you seriously going to come to his aid when it's 100% undeniable that i'm right and he's wrong? Well, i guess the same could be said of me and you as well. Maybe you conservatives just like being wrong together?

Actually you proved yourself wrong in your own link about who can authorize war but you are too stubborn to even see it. Actual backup? What proof do you post that 5 months ago is not "recent"? This I gotta see. And really, if all you have is to attack what someone's definition of "recent" is, then you are a small pathetic little human.

Somebody's looking like quite the manic depressive.

I'm reminded of Baby Faced nelson in the movie 'Oh Brother Where Art thou".

In reality we have already left the building by the time you even woke up to claim victory.

Re-read what you just posted. The only superficial nonsense is your argument. Do you honestly think a president wouldn't go to war without being able to explain, no matter how flimsy (see: Iraq), how going to war would protect the US and/or it's interests? It's the easiest fucking thing to get around. Also, look at our military budget, we have a higher budget than the next 20-something countries. The budget will NEVER be an impediment.

Who happens to be right. You mad?

I could not care less about what you think in your immature mind. I have no doubt that you think you're right about... something.

Who controls everything? Rofl yeah you keep on paying that $100k in student loans just to be a $40k/year robosigner. 😉

You are in here looking like a total idiot. Screaming names and calling people stupid, with your skinny delicate liberal pinkies in your ears thinking you won some argument where you're the only one arguing.....

Seriously... What a loser... Everyone is sitting here laughing at you. Watching you fall apart is fantastic entertainment :awe:

Student loans? I have none, i work in corporate finance. Do you like being wrong about everything?

LOL corporate finance, that's awesome, explains everything. I bet you are really busy trying to find the best prices on toilet paper and coffee.

ROFL... It just gets better and better.

Interesting, it's like conservatives have adopted some weird insult methodology where their insults aren't grounded in reality and aren't really insults either. First genx making fun of me for being more knowledgeable than he is and now this. You are a strange lot.

Uh huh, go read back a few pages and defend me beating the shit out of Genx, i DARE you.

Dude you are so pathetic. No kidding.... Like a little kid on a playground who has had his ass kicked and is screaming and crying about how he was right in the first place.... Nobody cares, but you keep repeating the same thing over and over....

Genx seemed to care a LOT considering the pages and pages we went toe to toe. He hasn't been here in a while because he might have grown some smarts and knew that he got his ass kicked (a very common occurrence i can guarantee you) yet again though. You seem to care right now, considering you are taking the time to converse with me.

Iraq took an AUMF.

The budget has always been an impediment. No need to act like the special appropriations to continue Iraq and Afghanistan haven't happened almost every year.

No, it's not an impediment. As i stated a page or two ago, it does not matter what laws congress passes to force the president to do this or that in regards to waging a war, the president can simply ignore it.

Rofl you keep telling yourself that..... I'm literally sitting here laughing at how childish you come across with every post.

And yet you're still here. You guys should have left when you were ahead, oh wait, you were never ahead.

I am surprised you stuck around this long. Usaully you have tucked tail and vanished by this time only to return a few days later to claim victory once again.

Rofl you keep telling yourself that..... I'm literally sitting here laughing at how childish you come across with every post.

And? I made Genx go nuts because i was right and he was wrong. Apparently, it's having the same effect on you too. You guys are addicted to me.

I bet you work for a republican who is just a big 'ole meanie.

Dad is probably one too, and beats you with a rolled up printout of the constitution.

Bahahaha Yes.... Man you are hilarious. A+ entertainment right here, watching a weak-minded liberal literally frothing at the mouth and falling apart.:thumbsup:
