1) Even if i did get 'fooled' by the NYT (which i didn't), the NYT is an actual news site whereas the Duffel Blog is a pretty obvious satire site. You never provided anything to actually counter the backup.

2) You haven't been paying attention, i also got you on your general stupidity when it comes to your belief that you think both parties are the same (as well as Genx, you two should fuck together)

Dear lord, it's really sad that you don't know you're within the same range of Incorruptible's intellect.

Please feel free to change 2009 to 2010, and so on, or do you need those links as well?

Two politicians. One that is the head of one party. The other that was the presidential candidate for the other. Focus like a laser beam and tell me how those two are banging heads against each other on drones and war on terra.

Your point #2 would require democrats to fund and approve of an operation. You making the case for me? 😀

I didnt say they were the same. I said they are increasingly the same on many policies.

1) You didn't say 'the president and the president's challenger' were the same.

2) Oh, so you're saying congress doesn't matter now?

3) Are you so ignorant to not know that the President has vast war powers that allow him to basically do anything he wants (even with things that are, at most, tangentially related to a war effort) without congressional approval to to actually declare war?

You dont think a president represents the values and pushes policy for the party?

How do you get that from what I wrote about congress? Are you mentally retarded? You made the claim if Romney or McCain were elected we would be in Iran implicates democrat congresses giving authorization and funding. You made the claim, not me.

Are you aware that going into Iran would cost more than Iraq, and especially Libya? So while Obama may think he can intervene in Libya. McCain or Romney going into Iran would be an entirely different matter.

Good lord, are you trying some sort of weird 'chewbacca defense'? You claimed the GOP recently agreed to tax hikes (meaning RECENTLY LIKE THIS YEAR, not 2009/2010). The article i gave contradicted that. You are clueless.

Oh, barring the fact you are trying to change the subject, you think recently means this year, but you link to an article trying to claim spending cuts since 2010. Didn't they agree to the hikes in Dec 2012, 5 whole months ago?

But try and stay on topic. You quoted an article claimg a lot more spending cuts than tax increases since 2010. This is the last time I will ask.

Where are those many more spending cuts?

2009 Budget $3.1 trillion
2010 Budget $3.55 trillion
2011 Budget $3.818 trillion
2012 Budget $3.795 trillion
2013 Budget $3.808 trillion

You are stupid as hell, the president doesn't need congress authorizing anything to go to war. In fact, even if congress passed past bills to limit the president's powers to go to war, the president's inherent standing as the commander-in-chief allows him to override that. I recently took a law class and this is something that we were lectured on. Continue posting your ignorance though, this is entertaining.

Well if you took a law class all bets are off. Let us bow before your superior understanding of the law. Did you also stay at a holiday inn? Let us know what we are dealing with here.

Awww, Genx is mad again. My professor specifically lectured on this topic. You trying to go toe to toe with me is like you looking at a hornet's nest and thinking, 'gosh, i wonder if it's a good idea to stick my dick in it' and then you actually do it.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_.../what_war_powers_does_the_president_have.html

Here, learn some more you ignoramus:

The United States has not formally declared war since World War II. Under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, Congress has sole power "to declare war [and] grant letters of marque and reprisal." But Article II, Section 2 provides that "The president shall be Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States." While it's clear that the Framers intended for Congress alone to declare war, presidents don't always check with Congress before acting. After President Harry Truman bypassed Congress to go to war in Korea, presidents have paid almost no attention to the constitutional requirements.
Declaring Less Than War

In 1973, an irate Congress passed the War Powers Act in response to President Lyndon Johnson and President Richard Nixon's prosecution of the war in Vietnam without a congressional declaration. Under the War Powers Act, the president has 90 days after introducing troops into hostilities to obtain congressional approval of that action. It looks good on paper, but presidents have generally ignored the War Powers Act, citing Article II, Section 2 as their authority to send soldiers into combat.

When are you going to learn not to debate me EVER? You always end up looking the fool.

LOL, now you're lying. 5 months ago isn't 'recent', and it's obvious you weren't talking about last year you idiot:

QUOTE=Matt1970;35024168]That's funny, I could have sworn that just recently the Republicans agreed to the tax hikes but when it came time for the budget cuts Democrats went into doom and gloom mode and Obama went on tour to cry about jobs that will be lost ans emails went out saying to make the cuts as painful as possible.

See, same BS, different side of the coin.

Well like I said. You took a law class. I feel ambushed by your superior knowledge on this subject now. One question, did this law class come before or after phy-ed? Just want to know before proceeding into the hornets nest.

Awww, defensive much? Typical conservatives, you HATE knowledge, that's why you're in the intellectual rut you're in. Fuck, you could have just googled it to learn that you were wrong, no law class needed. You are a complete embarrassment.

Of course I am defensive. You taking a law class has put me at a clear disadvantage in this discussion. What is an internet poster to do when confronted with such an obvious disadvantage?

Hell, your professor lectured you on it after all.

Whelp, i'm saving this link forever. This is literally the funniest thing i've seen ever at ATPN, even including Incorruptible's posts. Making fun of me because i want to better myself and me having more knowledge than you? BAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

hahahahahahahahahahahaha

no seriously

hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Somebody help Phokus here.

He won't even answer a simple days old question, then accuses others of dodging. He quote a NY Times blogger as gospel and then says anyone who posts facts from Google/Wiki/CBO is posting shit. He is Baghdad Bob. He sees tweetie-birds spinning above his head and a ref count to 10 and call him out yet he still thinks he won the match. He is beyond any help. You can keep pawing him watching him squirm but I have better things to do.

Again with the Chewbacca defense. It's pretty simple, you made a claim, i showed your claim was false with actually backup. Now you're trying to change the subject, yet again, because i bitch slapped you into orbit.

Also, lol @ you coming to Genx's defense when he a) got his ass kicked in an intellectual discussion and b) went off the deep end. Are you seriously going to come to his aid when it's 100% undeniable that i'm right and he's wrong? Well, i guess the same could be said of me and you as well. Maybe you conservatives just like being wrong together?
