This is crazy. Using an illegal version of software is a hot deal? Using this is NO different than pirating the disk. Here are the two options

1) Be a good person, and buy the entire product for $70 if you want it. Or - buy a differen CD-RW drive that comes with the software.

2) Be a bad person and pirate it. Why pay $5 for something illegal when you can do it for free? If you are going to be a no-ethics sleezebal, don't be a stupid one at the same time.

You can buy a SN Key off egay for $9.99 to unlock the Nero 6 Ultra demo version downloaded off Ahead's website. It's the latest full version and includes Nero Burning Rom.

WTF is the point?!

If you are getting an illegal key, whyTF are you paying for it?!

BTW, Nero 6 ultra is a FANTASTIC product, and we own it.

No kidding? Why buy an illegal serial off fleaBay that's probably been generated by a keygen anyway?

Selling OEM software alone is illegal.
Buying such software doesn't give you a legal ownership.
Why pay so much for illegal OEM version software?
Download it from the net FREE.

It's a legal OEM version, I got one from Livewarehouse when i bought a couple DVD/CDRW combo drives, Recognizes my 2500a NEC's also so it's not Drive specific.

I entered a Nero enterprise edition Key number and it unlocked everything, Full NERO, encoding, multiple DVD drive burning.

But these are showing up with the new Lite on retail CDRW drives i've bought in the last month. I probably have 40 Nero 5.5 unopened Nero OEM CD's from customers computers i've built in the past year.

It still makes me scratch my head why Full Nero costs $49.95 for the express @ nero.com, but they will sell the OEM's so cheap.

And actually I paid for a Nero 6 enterprise Download when it first came out so i could burn to multiple drives @ once.

And converting MPEG2's made from Video Tape, to DVD's of people Weddings and other things. Honeymoon video's are always free., Nero does a fine job and setting up chapter's and such.

Well worth me actually paying for software.

I got a version 6 disk Nero Express from eBay for about $12, shipped with hardware (not a CD burner) that apparently makes it a legitimate purchase. It works with both my DVD burner and my CD burner (apparently not locked to the model). The interface is not the normal Windows Explorer style that my previous versions of both Roxio and Nero had. It seems to work fine, though.

I believe that you can upgrade from an OEM version to the full version for $49 from Nero's http://ahead.de site. Considering the low price of the OEM, this seems like a good deal. I assume that the upgrade (that I didn't purchase yet) will permit moving among different drive models, if you have the model-locked version. It also appears that the Ultra edition can be downloaded and installed as the demoversion, then unlocked with a $69.95 key from Ahead, without buying any retail package.

Question: I downloaded the update files from Ahead.com, but I am not sure whether they do me any good with the Nero Express version. Any ideas?

No matter what you purchase don't lose your serial number. Mine was printed faintly on the CD sleeve. Once I found that the number was printed on the inside of a box, which was long gone.
