The CD pictured in the link above looks identical to the one I have from a previous hot deal a couple of months ago. The CD includes, per the sleeve:
Nero Express 6
InCD 4
Nero Vision Express 2-SE
Nero Showtime
Nero Media Player
Nero Toolkit
Nero Cover Designer

Nero Burning ROM is not included! The SN that comes with the CD will not activate Nero Burning Rom if you download it from the website - I tried it. Also printed on the front of my CD is" Bundle with CD/DVD Recorder Only - Not for Resale".

Yes, this is definately NOT everything in the $99 version. I got this a while back from a hot deal too and it is WAY stripped down. I ended up uninstalling and going back to Nero 5. I found it useless.

many of the oem nero deals - 5 bucks at computer shows, etc. are oem disks that are pulled from hardware bundles but only work with a particular bundled drive. I have bought a few of them and they are often worthless.

You can enter a key to make it work with other drives. I know that may be a grey area, but what if you're burner dies, does that mean the software that came with it should die too?

Nebula, Would you save a poor soul the time and effort of a search, and give at least a good hint of where to find a key to allow using a bundled Nero to work on other drives? Thanks a bunch.

DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION

This is an oem version, limited function. You WON'T be able to burn DVD. This is only for casual CD burning.

WTF are you talking about? Just because it's an OEM version doesn't mean it won't burn DVDs! It ships with DVD burners for crying out loud. I just got an OEM copy off ebay a week ago for $9.95 w/free shipping and I've used it with DVDShrink to burn 3 DVDs already. They play fine on all 3 of my set top DVD players.

This is usually bundled with a Cheap after rebate drive, but if you were to pick it up off the shelf it would cost you 70 bucks or so. I've gotten 2 that were tied into specific hardware, both drives died, so I sprung for Nero 6 Full version. Works like a champ

Yeah its an evil cycle. Tech TV guy steals deal from Anandtech (or FW) post and takes credit for it (AKA "Dark Deal"... bah!), then Anandtech member steals it from Tech TV guy and reposts it back to Anandtech..... In both cases neither one sites the original source of the deal...... the wheel spins on.

YEAH, and Leo makes stupid remarks like "Where does he find these things?!"

Well, he steals them from Anandtech or FW....:) I wonder what they pay that kid for his "Dark Deals" segment?
