Using the "proper" meaning its "we're committed to this path of action for good or bad, let's play our best game"
Using your version it's "our future actions are set, let's see how they turn out"

My fiancée did the same thing, was all worried after the announcement, but by late afternoon was all excited and donated for the first time this season. I've been donating to Biden about once a month and donated again after the announcement. I have a deep respect for Biden and will fully support Kamala, or on the off chance another candidate determined by the convention. But I can honestly say I'm excited for Kamala in a way I wasn't about Biden and I'm seeing that on social media since the announcement.

Some people like the middle; "left wing agendas" can lose you elections. The Dems have basically lost the middle already, going too far into identity politics. I just saw one of Kamala's statements since becoming the presumptive nominee. Did she address the economy, the border, international unrest? No, the first thing she pounded on, as she has done continuously, was reproductive rights. I am all for a reasonable policy on allowing abortion (something along the lines of Roe v Wade), but to anyone whose primary concern is this issue, the Dems are already the clear winner. Move on to other issues. Try to win back independents, and "the middle".

If you don't have a vagina I don't expect this to resonate the same way with you. Slightly more than 50% of the country does have one and this *IS* important.

The Dems are a center right party. They can't win on mythical "independents"; they can only win by getting out the vote.

Interesting. Apparently you are correct. I always assumed it meant a die use in casting metal.
In the current situation of the Dems though, I would consider it more like the die is teetering on one corner and nobody knows how it is going to fall yet.

No, the absolutely horrid is the completely unlimited and unmonitored billion dollars or more in dark money spend polluting the campaign, that doesn't even require disclosing givers identity (or even verifying that they are a U.S. citizen).

At least the official campaign accounts retain individual contribution limits and mandate disclosure of contributor's identity.

I never said it wasn't important. I simply said that the Dems are already clear winners if this is the primary or single issue for a voter. I dont think it is going to turn the tide again for the Dems like it sort of did in the 2022 midterms. And even then, all it did was prevent a red wave that would have been a disaster. With all the crazies in the Rep party, if the Dems had a clear, appealing mainstream message and presented it effectively, they should have taken a clear majority in both houses.

The Obama economy wasn’t really full steam until his second term. Obama did a great job in his first term of cleaning up the mess of a recession GW Bush left him.

How were things when Biden took office? Remember COVID? We’re just finally starting to turn the corner (Fed looks almost guaranteed to cut rates in September) after bringing inflation down to target levels which was painful yes, and whoever is president next term will reap the rewards of that. Normally that would have been a Biden 2nd term but here we are. Regardless I think we need to acknowledge he navigated the recovery pretty skillfully.

You also use (manufacturing) dies for casting, but I’ve never heard of a die itself being cast. Whatever being cast is the high volume item you want to produce. If you were going to cast a die you’d need another, bigger die to cast it… and then… oh my brain
