Never quite understood the straws thing in restaurants. To go, sure. I just *gasp* drink from the damn glass in the restaurant. Not like the "germs" from the glass are going to be avoided by using a straw, considering your drink is in the glass (??) 🙂

Yep, stuck in FL for the time being. Job, family, and a home business so it won't be a trivial thing to leave. I'll miss exactly one thing when I retire up north, and that will be my weekend (non-full time) band (which by that time will surely be done gigging!)

What a roller coaster since the debate. I do feel some sense of relief though I don't have vast optimism that Trump can be beaten and won't breathe a sigh of relief until he actually loses. Inevitably his side will 1) try to cheat and 2) complain that the other side cheated so I don't even worry about that.

Sadly there is still plenty of sexism and racism even among what are normally Democratic voters so I worry a bit about Harris' chances. For whatever reason people think old white dudes need to run things. On the plus side, if demonized-for-decades Hillary with her unpleasant speaking voice could get that close to beating "fresh and new" Trump then maybe it'll happen with old-n-busted Trump.

...are not going to ever be running for this position. I wonder why people keep bringing this up as if it's ever something that is possible? It is not possible.
 
I voted 0% chance as he was digging his heels in at the time. Kind of glad I was wrong. I don't see it changing the minds of any voters that already are voting against Trump. Kamala isn't my first choice, especially harkening way back to the presidential debates in 2020. But I guess we'll go with what we have. Sure would be nice to see Hillary in the race, but against Trump I don't think she could do it under a rematch. Thankfully Trump is still in it as I see him as being the most beatable. Any traditional reasonable conservative would likely win in the current political climate imho if they were able to field one.

But this stops the one that were planning to vote 3rd party because they didn’t want either old dude. Like I’m thinking Cornell West will drop out now to endorse Harris. And it picks up the Haley votes that are upset she caved and still endorsed the orange monkey
 
So zero chance of another debate, Harris should hold them anyway and have a ventriloquist or something stand in for him and just destroy his old senile ass

I managed to relax with:
Pizza with ricotta cheese, olives, and pineapples!
Chicken Tikka Tandoori

This thing is very risky.. Biden more or less held onto to his base.. I'm not sure Kam can, but can try.. not like Joe's a realistic choice anymore

And I don't trust the US media anymore.. Here's an opinion from across the pond: (he's more bullish than I am but he makes some good points)

I don't care. Best thing ever since I tasted it in Thailand. I have not had a pizza without pineapple since 2011.

They even do seafood on pizza down there.. squid, octopus, manta ray but pineapple was my limit!

And yeah PINEAPPLES RULES on pizza. The rest of the ignorant yanks can suck it. Another reason Americans may not like coming to Canada in addition to paper straws 🤪
