I don't think they were ok with it the first time. They tried most everything, short of assassination, to keep him out of the way and minimize the damage while he was in office.

There were plans in place to damage Russia and China and to further western hegemony towards a world under single governance. Those plans had to be put on hold while he was in office. Can't afford to upset that apple cart any more.

I don't think they care about who holds elected offices or which party claims control so long as everyone is playing by their rules. Can't have any wildcards like a JFK or a Trump.

JFK was a wild card? He just seemed like a C-tier president who happened to be young and charismatic. What did he do or want to do that was so wild? Same with Trump, really. He didn't do much of anything in office other than steal from the treasury and get bribed by foreign governments.

Trump's main problem was that he's a huge criminal, not that he was some policy radical.

Knowing Trump's notorious insecurities matched up with his oh-so-tender overly inflated ego, Vance mainly got picked to allay any fears of outshining Trump in any way shape or form. Vance will be a vastly superior groveling suckass that Pence could ever hope to be.

2: Decided to block a primary by running again.

He made these choices, now for better or worse we get to live with them.
