Biden acknowledges the “transitional candidate” remark again and makes clear that he did in fact originally mean to serve one term. Starting the backpedaling from obstinately staying in the race I hope. Gift link below.

I hope you are right and that it is a sign of progress - and they decide to do the right thing - just make it a medical excuse and he is doing it for the good of the country.

He is very tight with Pelosi. I think the odds she gives Biden a private ultimatum sometime next week are high.

She is taking too long. It should be this week, not just because of the timing to steal the spotlight from the RNC, but just because, enough is enough and this is getting ridiculous.

This only ends 1 of 2 ways: Bad and Legendary Bad!

Just go to a bar, order calimari, bourbon and relax..

Really hoping there is a plan to announce right after Trump's keynote address to steal the news cycle and end this shit.

Honestly at this point seems like the only one who can convince Biden would be his doctor.

"Not Kamala" means you lose a chunk of black voters that will view this as passing over the black candidate.

And "yes Kamala" loses you a vast chunk of Midwest indies who will find her totally unrelatable.

Honestly might as well have a contested, drama-filled convention at this point. The electorate loves a spectacle, might as well give it to them.

Clyburn has said if Biden steps its Harris, people should believe him.

Who the fuck are these people? Clyburn? Pelosi? Schumer?

How do they get to override millions of voters? Just because donors want a different guy?

This is going to be a clusterfuck of biblical proportions and the media will amplify it that the dems are anti-democracy not Trump! (nevermind the whole J6 thing)

And turdmahal, imjackass and every MAGAT will be smiling from ear to ear.. they knocked out a sitting president and rolled out the red carpet to establishing fascism without even trying!

It's not just the donors, elite, or party heads. At least half of D voters are saying he should not be on the ticket now and the figure is worse with Indies.

Kind of mind blowing watching the GOP court black/Latino voters, labor groups, and now they could try to pin the Dems as the undemocratic ones. Wild shit.

The Atlantic had a good article on this recently, the 2024 Trump campaign is vastly different, and being vastly underestimated by all.

If the Dems care to, they can orchestrate a graceful convention handoff with Biden introducing a replacement. Given the Dem insiders' love of blabbing to the media, no grace will be achieved.

Okay and how does Kamala stack up against Biden in the swing state polls, the only polls that will matter?

From mostly no worse to somewhat better. Biden's major problem is that there is no obvious way for him to turn perceptions around at this point. The debate may have done irreparable damage.
