[Biden told Rep. Jason Crow] "‘Tell me something you’ve never done with your Bronze Star like my son,’ this member of Congress told me. 'Had the assassination attempt not occurred an hour later, I imagine 50 people on that Zoom were ready to come out publicly against him'"
Don't know about you, I'm still voting for a corpse over Trump any day.At this point fuck Joe Biden, fuck Jill Biden, and fuck anybody in his inner circle helping this continue.
How about we collectively fire all of them. Republicans don't want to serve the people, and while Democrats seem to want to, they're too paralyzed by fear to just take the steps needed to serve us.Everyone at the DNC needs to be fired after the election, they simply need to start over. The fastest political implosion I've ever seen. One party absolutely wrecked in less than a month.
The parties (eg, "The DNC") are inherently weak. This is a feature, not a bug, after reforms starting after 1968.Everyone at the DNC needs to be fired after the election, they simply need to start over. Yeah I don’t think people understand how political parties in America work. The parties (eg, "The DNC") are inherently weak. This is a feature, not a bug, after reforms starting after 1968.
Too many Democrats are beholden to the non-profit industrial complex. "We need to study the problem some more before anything is implemented." Time to just take a stance and start implementing policy. If something is not working, take steps to fix it.How about we collectively fire all of them. Like sweep the board and start over with new people please.
And much of that is just moneymaking busy work, I just wish people would spend more effort busying themselves with shit that actually mattered.Too many Democrats are beholden to the non-profit industrial complex. Some more local-level examples that come to mind: LA spending $2.5 million to study whether it is worth closing a road running through a park, and NYC spending millions on consultants to tell the city to put trash bags inside containers - both things that are very obvious or low stakes to just fucking try (eg, the road closure - something that plenty of cities have tried in the past). And this type of thinking just permeates up through the party ecosystem.
We can't know if it is busy work until we spend millions of dollars on consulting contracts to see if these outside consultants are worthwhile. /sAnd much of that is just moneymaking busy work, I just wish people would spend more effort busying themselves with shit that actually mattered.
Unfortunately in many cases our insane environmental review laws make lighting money on fire like this required.Too many Democrats are beholden to the non-profit industrial complex. Same here but I'm not sure there are going to be enough of us. Current piece at The New York Times saying it's not a done deal, but the comments are uniformly pessimistic and many of them, if not the great majority are by very angry people who were counting on Biden and feel betrayed both by him and the DNC people. Very depressing read last evening prior to my bedtime. I was trying to stay optimistic but now wonder if the best chance for avoiding a catastrophe in November isn't an open convention for Democrats.Worse than the debate.... in a call with Democrats to discuss campaign strategy. Joe couldn't do it.
The man who ran for President in 2020 is already gone. This is a shell of the former.
Don't know about you, I'm still voting for a corpse over Trump any day.
The only reason you are like this is because you are so down on Kamala due to the fucking wack bubble you live in, it's really fucking ridiculous at this point. If there was a different VP to step up, you'd be screaming for Biden to drop out. Just get over yourself. Is she the ideal candidate? I don't think so. But she is definitely better than Biden. But we don't want to upset the racist Indian cabbie race purity warrior demographic do we!
The strongest potential candidates are (in alphabetical order) Arizona Sen. MARK KELLY, Maryland Gov. WES MOORE, Pennsylvania Gov. JOSH SHAPIRO and Michigan Gov. GRETCHEN WHITMER. All four outpaced Biden “by roughly 5 points across battleground states.”

That's why these types of polls are useless. People just wish-cast their ideas on to a candidate they don't know. Everyone loves "someone else" until the rubber meets the road.Lol. I guarantee you that the vast majority of Americans have no idea who these people are. Low name recognition inflating their numbers.
Look at the big "can't rate" number for Whitmer and Newsom in this Fox poll and the very low one for Harris.

Breaking with the administration will have much worse long-term outcomes for any progressive policy: it basically signals politically that all those ideas that got passed are loser things that don't get you votes. So when the next recession comes around, don't look for stimulus, and don't look for big infrastructure bills...
Yes. But the political class has also done a piss-poor job managing expectations and communicating. They just let "the vibes" run rampant like a poison, and the local and state level politicians have done just about fuck all for one of the biggest concerns people have (housing costs) that feeds into the vibes.America is pretty clearly telling the political class that 10% unemployment is better than any amount of inflation above 2% and they have ears.

I like Whitmer but I have no doubt that she would quickly be portrayed as an "aggressive and hateful woman" to drive those negatives up. Newsome will be the second coming of Lenin from the dip shits who don't get there are like 12 real Marxists in the US.

The media's huge negativity bias guarantees enormous coverage of things like rising prices/interest rates and little of things like low unemployment, falling prices, increasing wages, GDP growth, fatter personal savings, etc. The actual problems we face like excessive housing costs are obfuscated the same way as just something that's occurred without informing people about the how/why and what actually could be done about it. I'm not convinced that any amount of messaging from the politicians can overcome this just like Trump could not talk his way out of his piss poor COVID response.
