Easier than pulling straight in or easier than backing out?

I think it's safer to back in since you can see more easily pulling out. A lot of people are pretty bad at it though. It always makes me laugh at work to see how many back in and use the curb to know they're far enough back.

"everyone backs into parking spots"

*suv in 2nd row back is clearly front in*

those people in the front row probably pulled into there from behind

Its easier to pull in in general, but with backing in, its fairly easy to maintain the distance between the two cars. What's trickier is if you're in an emptier lot with no cars on your side. I often end up sitting on a line. But I don't do it often. I'm sure the Asians mastered this already.

Remember, most parking lot accidents in the US are when cars are backing out. Pulling out is far safer (TWSS) in that you reduce the chance of any accidents due to visibility issues.

That is what I thought. My ex told me many things about Korea and shared pictures with me when she went there. It is an interesting place - well thought out infrastructure, really fast internet, and very clean. She is from Ansan area.

Pretty much all of Asia has amazing infrastructure. I'm talking about the major cities--Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore. They all have an amazing metro and public transportation system that makes you go "WTF America." Even NYC doesn't come close. Sure the subway is open 24 hours which is convenient, but only in America do you have a bunch of stinky people on buses/subway, people blasting music, people shouting, etc. Korea is a bit louder in the subway, but dang in Japan you STFU and you chat on Line Messenger. HK and Taipei to an extent is very peaceful too in my experience. You text and WhatsApp/Line, not talk on the phone or talk loudly. Everyone's disciplined. Even my experiences on the Beijing Metro and Shenzhen MTR make the US look bad.

It's amazing how sophisticated the infrastructure is in Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and others. Everytime I visit, I'm ashamed for the sad state of disarray the cities are here, there should be no excuse. /sigh

Dont forget to add Singapore to your list. Truly a world-class global city. I gre up next to NYC and was amazed by Singapore.

The subway in Singapore is immaculate. Bright and incredibly clean. You have to pay for the restrooms, but they look like something out of a high end department store in the US.

I usually try and line up with the lines in front of me when there are empty slots. The biggest problem I have is I drive an Oldsmobile that has the turning radius of a big rig.

That reminds me of my homeland. During the recent hosting of the 2014 World Hockey Championship, most common phrase by the tourists was, "It is clean like we are visiting an Utopian society."

Every society should enforce stiff penalties for littering and sticking up gum under rails...

Seriously, "reasonable punishment" be damned, there needs to be a caning sentence for littering. 10 whacks to the back for tossing trash on the ground, 20 whacks for gum.

Also as a Korean, the OP list is dumb.
