<< What is the best memory for overclocking? >>

I've always had great success with Crucial and Corsair. I'll bet many others here have too.

I bought some OCZ PC3000 RAM a few months ago (rated 366MHz). It actually ran fine at the rated speed if other settings were left default (CAS 2.5, Normal, etc.). However, it will not run any better than that without additional voltage. I guess it's similar to "pre-tested" stuff, unlike normal rated stuff that can often clock better.

ugh, i just built my 1st pc with ocz ram, mostly because it was close in price to the kingston ram i originally wanted. seems to be running ok. although i have been wondering how to check that it really is running at pc2400. can someone direct me somewhere that can walk me thru this -- i am a n00b.

i do feel that my pc is running a little slower than my brothers, which we built together about a month ago. i attributed it to mobo's (he's using the latest soltek, and i'm using the latest soyo {both amd, though my cpu is slightly faster}). he's also using that kingston pc2100 ram.

hmm, anyway, if someone can post a link or let me know the process of checking ram speed, i'd really appreciate it.

thanks!

IMHO it's Samsung PC2700 w/ 6ns chips. Mine will dance @ 200MHz easily.

I e-mailed newegg asking if they had heard any of these nasty things about OCZ, or had problems with them. I almost feel bad about waisting their time, but this again proves that their customer service rocks. got a reply within 24 hours.

I haven't heard of any reports of accusations about this company, nor
have I had any real Negative feedback from the purchase of there memory.
these just might be simply be rumors which circulate Website forums
everyday. You could always contact the BBB and ask them directly, if they
have any complaints on file, you can find out directly, but to be
honest, I wouldn't see how selling someone else's memory would constitute
fraud, if they are covering it with there own warranty. And there
products match the performance they provide. Many Memory companies do sell
other companies memory under there own name, this is very common in the
industry for years.

corsair XMS2700 is pc2700 CAS2, my chip runs at PC3000 (183) cas3, and 165mhz (the current motherboards limit) with fast timings.

Note: What is so wrong with OCZs policys, they just sell the highest yeilding crap for more $$$.

Also note: Madonion removed the thread.

I sucked and didn't know this and bought a stick of the 2400 DDR...specced to run 150 and the seller claimed it did....luckily I'm not a mad overclocker and won't even run it near 150....
