I think I read somewhere that lapping the slk-800 won't do much... Is that true?

well if anything is already flat enough, lapping it wont do jack

like for example swiftech...they lap theirs pretty damn nicely to begin with...so lapping it more so wont do muhc...if anything at all
the only reason to lap is if you find major problems regarding flatness...or if you managed to mess it up lol

my slk800 is pretty damn flat....i dint find the need to go thru the trouble and effort of lapping it

Wow fast reply thanks.

I went to here and I got Athlon XP High Performance Desktop Processor (Model 6) 1533MHz
OPGA Organic Pin Grid Array 1.75 Volt max. Temp. 90°C
256 KB L2 Cache 266 MHz Systembus (133 MHz FSB) that. Does that mean I can only do 1.75 max vcore? And isnt' 90 degrees C very very dangerous what does that mean?

Thats just a general ballpark figure. Your temps shouldn't exceed 60C and you can feed the processor safely up to 1.85v.

all of them to the biggest #'s available
once you reach max oc, or an oc that you want, play with the settings

run memtest86 to see if its stable...if it errors out, change wahtever you changed back to waht it was before, and play with another setting

if nothing runs at fastest timings, no worriez
the timings only affect the initial latency anyways

Biggest #'s it is thanks and what is the order of installing stuff? WinXP + SP1; 8rda+ nforce 2 drivers; sound card drivers( I bought a santa cruz might as well use it);vid card drivers; direct x 9(where can i get that?); should I use onboard lan or my linksys network card? does it really matter? is the 8rda+ integrated lan good?; any other pci stuff i add drivers; random programs like games and antivirus; then flash au-11 bios to epox 8rda+ bios.....

ok I got lost installing the heatsink....
Step 2: Stick the four static free rubber pads onto the CPU. These pads will serve as rubber stands on AMD CPU.
1. I only got 2
2. That picture doesn't show wehre I'm supposed to put them

I know, I know. It is just that I spend MORE time in the Hot Deals forums and when someone is spending money, I look for a better deal. And, yes, FREE is much better but some of us (majority) are addicted to going broke because we are trying to save money on all those "deals" out there!
