OC Plateau?

Hoping you guys can help me out. I'm pretty new to ocing AMDs but I've read quite a few articles and posts and I've experimented for awhile on mine. I think I've hit the peak of my chip's capabilities. Setup is in sig. I have it running at 2.53 (230x11) fairly stable. Prime95 runs fine when I run a blend torture test, 3dMark01-05, and HL2 but when I run a small FFT torture test I get errors pretty quick. Here are the settings in my bios:
Vcore- 1.5
Vdimm- 2.8
AGP- 66 (locked)
Timings- 2.5-2-2-10____1T____4xHTT

Temps are 39C@idle and 60C@load

I've tried loosening the timings, dropping the multiplier to 10x, and raising the fsb to 240 but I get BSOD before I even get into Windows. I've also tried 235x11 with above timings, which gets me into Windows, but crashes when I run HL2. Any ideas on how to get 2.6Ghz?

those temps are reaaally high for xp-120. Make sure you have decent case airflow and make sure its touching your cpu right. I think the temps could be holding you back from higher OC.

Could the high temps be from the Abit board just reading wrong? I've heard they tend to read higher then they should.

I do have the latest BIOS. I tried losening the timings to 3-3-3-10 but it still wasn't stable. Maybe I'll try 3-4-4-10 or something. I guess 70mhz isn't a huge deal anyway. I'd like to be able to run my chip oced 24/7 so I don't want crazy voltages. Maybe 2.6Ghz just isn't going to happen.

I have the same motherboard and pdp xbl memory 2x512Mb. I was trying to change the memory slots from 1&2 to 3&4. Probably I was doing smth wrong, but I did not get the stable work during overclocking that way. What memory slots are you using? I've read that XP120 installed on AV8 is blocking the first memory slot. Is it true?
