So this existential threat of the Obozo administration tried to use the crusades as a sorry ass excuse for radical Islam. Obozo won't even call it radical Islam! And the fucking crusades were about defending against Muslims! Here's a history lesson. http://www.crisismagazine.com/2011/the-real-history-of-the-crusades

I just wonder if this Indonesian transformed idiot still thinks there are 57 states?

President Barack Obama’s speech at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday stunned Glenn Beck, who described it as a “lecture” to Americans not to “wag our fingers at [the Islamic State] for executing, crucifying, setting people on fire, because we all remember exactly what Christianity did a thousand years ago.”
“Good Lord help us,” Beck said on his radio program Friday. “Mr. President, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve had a reformation since then.”
Beck asked the president what he would have done if he had been alive during the Crusades or the Inquisition. Would he have stood up to injustice, or would he have said, “we shouldn’t judge?”

People who haven't studied the crusades at all think christians were just going on a mass slaughter in God's name. The truth isn't quite so damning.

But really if we're going to let the germans off for the holocaust just last century it's probably time to stop blaming comparing radical islam's rampant murdering in 2015 to christianty's whatever hundreds of years ago.

Obama sounds just like all our resident idiot flaming libs, they cant call a spade a spade.

Radical Islam is currently a massive terrorist organization. Liberals can say it has nothing to do with religion, but until the terrorists stop using religion to further their cause, all the libs are doing it wasting oxygen.

Your crusader battle map is grossly deficient. Formal crusades were declared against muslim Spain, pagan Poland, pagan northern Germany and Prussia, pagan Scandinavia, and pagan Baltic countries. In addition, the Spanish/Portuguese conquests in the New World were as much about God as they were about gold. Even the 18-20th century imperial conquests were justified based on the lack of proper faith of those conquered.

No mention of the Albigensian Crusade? 1 million dead heretic Frenchies should get some love.

Ahh yes, another history lesson from our dear leader, much like his chastising educating of business owners on who builds bridges. Brilliant.

...like the fact that those battles still aren't nearly to the same scale as the jihads before and after?

Holy crap, Bill Warner is trying blame Islam for the destruction of classical civilization? The Muslims were far too late to that game. Christians and German tribes wiped out classical Greek/Roman civilization centuries before Muhammad came on the scene.

Among Lefties there are those who try to make convenient facts out of ancient and inapplicable history. I'm not insulted by Obama because I know he's not stupid and therefore he's lying. But he's a politician and he opened his mouth. It's his job to look good in his own eyes and that sometimes requires deception that includes fooling some of the people all of the time. Same will be true in 100 years.

Glen Beck raises the Reformation as some sort of source of Christian goodness? The Reformation brought on slaughter on a scale impressive even for Christians.

Beck is like Obama in that he has a product to sell. Being accurate isn't his mandate either. That said the Christians of long ago hadn't a world wide web where different ideologies and modern ways of thinking are accessible. Those who harm others like ISIS cannot say they could never know another way.

The Christain slaughter of pagans of northern Europe were genocides in many cases.

"Ignore that mountain - it's insignificant. Look at this horrible, horrible molehill!!"

No one is saying Christianity (or Catholicism to be more specific) hasn't had its dark moments, but the scale is still a hundred times larger on the other side. Telling me to ignore that is pretty strange...

Number of people killed in crusades: 3,000,000
http://necrometrics.com/pre1700a.htm#Crusades

people killed in Spanish inquisition:
"No one knows exactly how many people perished because of the Inquisition, but it is thought to be between 3,000 and 5,000 people during the 350 years of its existence"

http://www.strangenotions.com/spanish-inquisition/
pesky facts.

oy,too much clickbait..will fix.
fixed.
Number of people killed in the name of Allah:

"Islam ran the wholesale slave trade in Africa."
"This gives a rough estimate of 270 million killed by jihad."

http://www.politicalislam.com/tears-of-jihad/

Let's do a little math; You are 90x more likely to be killed by a Muslim than a Christian.
They have killed 90x more people than Christians.

No it isn't. Christianity was spread by the sword every bit as much as Islam was spread by the sword.
