I want to think the point he trying to make was that not all muslims are a part of these radical few, but its more like he's throwing a millennia old war at christians to say they did it too. But what's the point in that? We are living in the present. Christians aren't blowing people up nearly every day. Obama even kind of chokes up a bit when he starts on his condemnation as if he is thinking that its is a bad idea.

Crazy to think a politician would say those things.

How dare you compare my savage fairy tale with those brown people's savage fairy tale!

This entire Christian butt hurt issue is no different than believers in Leprechauns being insulted by a comparison to believers of Unicorns.

Except christians make up a huge constituent, which is why this was crazy to do politically.

I'm Christian, Catholic at that and I'm not sure why I should be insulted. His message is to those people who try to paint all Muslims with the same brush as ISIS and those who kill in the name of Muslims. There was a time where Christians, did equally heinous things in the name of Christianity. That didn't and doesn't speak for all Christianity why should what ISIS does speak for all Muslims.

If you get insulted by things like this you probably shouldn't read any history.

Hell he should have went with burning witches at the stake. That is at least a little more modern having happened as recently as the late 18th century.

Either way we really need to get out of the habit of excusing bad behavior because someone else did it

How dumb do you have to be to interpret his speech in this way? It's not like it was cryptic. No one is excusing any bad behavior, they're saying you can't paint a group of over a billion people with the same brush as groups like the Islamic State. I don't call all far right Christians Nazis or KKK members even though both of those were far right Christian groups.

It should also be mentioned that his speech did include references to slavery and Jim Crow as more recent examples too. Jim Crow having been within the last 100 years.

So his core message is to not cast the first stone and he was spitting in our faces?

The religious right wants to throw their religion in your face, they don't want to actually be held to the standards of their own religion.

I'm pretty sure the topic of this thread is just how stupid John Connor was. I find myself sad that Robert Patrick missed in 1992.

How did those slaves come to be slaves?

"Islam ran the wholesale slave trade in Africa."

So this existential threat of the Obozo administration tried to use the crusades

When you have to go back hundreds of years to draw parallels, you know you're reaching. Some religions are more violent than others. The whole liberal "everybody is equal" fantasy is apparently applicable to religions and cultures as well.

No.

Cultures and religions vary in their propensity for inciting violence.

If you want to make people who believe in these false equalities unhappy, ask them if Scientologists are also equal. Haha.

That said, I believe most Muslims are decent people. Not because of Islam but because they would be decent people no matter what religion they were. Same with Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. Scientologists can ride the short bus to hell though.

So the entire religion Islam ran the slave trade in your opinion. Does that mean that the entire religion Christianity had slaves? Why do you even post here? You say nothing but stupid or wrong things 100% of the time.

You angry today?

I dislike stupidity. And the far right on this forum is bubbling over with stupidity greater than what should be capable in a single human being. Hell, John Connor has more stupidity than should be capable of existing in a NFL stadium full of stupid people. And somehow people like michal1980 might actually surpass him.

Here here!

Stupid people aren't capable of getting a persons message when it involves bringing up negatives from their teams history.

The OP's outrage reminds me of other religious idiots going ape shit over a cartoon of Mohammad.

How does Islam runnng the slave trade equate to Christians owning slaves?
That is one super-huge leap there mister.

Do you have anything to back that statement up?

Most black slaves were owned by black people, btw.

Fragile Christians offended! Stop the presses.

You are missing the point. I wasn't there 700 years ago to support the actions. We are not offended. We are merely pointing out the hilarity of trying to make comparisons to actions the occurred 700 years ago.

So it's hilarious to compare what's happening now to other historical events? You must be very easily amused.

Your thinking is upside down. The size of the constituency is exactly why it needed to be said. The CBD that must create "the other" , the enemy team, eternally out of thin air, must do so because it is motivated by the presence of an enlarged amygdala unable to be held in check by a shrunken cingulate.

The CBD in America right now is engaged in creating a new crusade all over again today. The terror that childhood trauma and the repression of the memories involved are being poked at by similarly brain damaged Muslim extremists. Our local cunning conservative manipulators recognize instinctively the power they can siezing the reigns of the horses of the apocalypse.

We have on the right a mass collection a mass collection of lemming psychopaths who are having their amygdalas dittled. Welcome to the new I mass psychosis. Obama must be destroyed so we can start the killing of Muslims without any guilt or conscious held up to our blood lusting faces. We are the good guys. We put to bed our religious team 700 years ago and only now kill for state oil, you know, practical things, like ridding the world of vermin.

Pity, it's never the vermin on our side we send to die doing such things. Looking at all the hate Meistersinger on the right who never served, Cheney being my favorite example. He had more important personal things to do.

It is the defectiveness of minds like yours that result down through history in the death of millions. There is nothing to wonder about as to why you can't see anything. You are a good person. You sit on the head of Lady Macbeth
