Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the game online for download?

I doubt I'll be able to aquire (legally, and I don't want to pirate it) it in my country soon and most US retailers don't ship internationally.

Physically, the parts of videocards that calculate the type of HDR used in oblivion are also responsible for AA. There won't be a driver fix for this one..but running in SLI or Crossfire make it so you could do a form of intermittnet AA and HDR rendering when reaching high framerates...you wont be able to see a difference.

Its much easier just to turn the resolution up, this is sort of ghetto AA in my experience heh.

You guys have way too many assumptions. First there is the assumption against Stuff game reviewers. To me a reviewer for that magazine is probably representative of your 'average' gamer which by no means makes his review incorrect. The average gamer will probably rate this game at a 6.

Also, I do not 'have it out for this game'. I'm actually looking forward to it. However, I'm waiting for all of the reviews to come in before paying full price and I'm also waiting to see how people with more dated hardware, such as myself (xp2100+/x800 pro/1.5mb crap ram/etc.) enjoy the game. If I can only play 800x600 then I will more than likely pass. Of course that is not the games fault but my hardware's ability to run the software ranks high on my buy/no-buy list. 😛

Average ranking on gamerankings.com: 95%. I think that says it all...

Are these first impressions or after having played it all the way through?

Yep, came back to edit, but this is better. They are ALL previews. 🙁 Nevermind...

Any game this hyped will typically suck. And yet people preorder it...

You probably don't even have a clue what Oblivion is. There has never been a bad Elder Scrolls game, all have been well above average.

Is that before or after they fix the massive bugs?

cough cough daggerfall cough

Dude i just watched about over 11hrs of oblivion gameplay :! i saw no bug in this game. ran smooth , no frame rate drop or anything. The game looked great all time and was just great.

I didn't say oblivion had bugs
I made the point that quoting their past releases does not guarantee a good future release

Arkane, what in hell are you talking about? This "review" was just first impressions from a short amount of playing time. I don't know what makes you think you know everything, or how you can possibly feel that this was written to "stir up controversy." Your post served absolutely no purpose and did nothing except piss me off. Who's the one trying to get the attention again? Take your crap somewhere else.

PC Gamer gave it a 93%
PC Gamer also gave Doom3 a 94%.

I'd just as soon find out for myself.
Since every other Elder Scrolls game has been good, its worth 50 bucks for me to experiment.

Your is point is?....I suggest you actually buy the game and play it for a few months at least, then come back and talk about some real facts.

well, if you look..they gave an official rating of the game to be 6/10

if its just a first impression..why rate it at all? why write the article at all? why not wait 5 more hours so you have an idea of what you are writing about.

this was meant to be a review of the game. You being angry with me doesn't change anything. have a pleasant afternoon.

I don't know why so many gamers seem to dislike the TES series. I think they are a great series or RPG games. They are other great series too, but TES should definately up there with them.

TES series isn't for everyone. Not everyone likes things so open ended. Some people like to be able to beat the game, and to see everything. I can't fault people for having a different preference.
