The changes you're seeing were in the works 6 months ago. Your employer got a notice from your old carrier about premium increases around Easter. That prompted a search for an alternate carrier and endless negotiations with multiple companies. The legislative proposals had zero impact on what you are seeing.

This is exactly why I thought they should have waited until November before starting with the legislative proposals. IMO White House and Congress went about this in the wrong way. They should have started with listening tours engaging patients and doctors. They shoud not have even talked to the insurance companies, big pharma and hospital companies until they had listened to the people at the end of the chain.

My Insurance rates have gone up steadily for the last 20 years and the deductible keeps getting higher with less coverage...I will blame Obama for that too The company I work for has also changed insurance carries at least 7 times in this timeframe too.

I can just imagine this mess on a federal level.

BULLSHIT! "Obama's health care plan" doesn't exist, yet so IT didn't cost you anything. In fact, there is no definition of "Obama's health care plan" until Congress passes a bill, and Obama signs it. If your rates doubled, and you nothing has changed in whatever they say they consider in setting your rates, it's because your insurer stuck it to you for their own greedy purposes.

Complaining to your insurer probably won't do any good. They have you by the short ones, and your options probably run between little to none.

This is exactly why we need a public option to offer a real alternative to their treachery and to repeal the insurance industry's exemption from anti-trust laws.
