Was there ever any doubt this administration wants more illegal immigration? This is not a surprise at all, just another ploy to ensure the future vote of these illegals once they get amnesty.

So as long as they came here while under 16.

What about the parents - is he going to kick those out?

All this is going to do is start setting a precedent for families to get the children up to the US as quickly as possible.

And what is defined as a serious misdemeanor?

Right, but I'm assuming legals are a smaller voting block than the illegals. So he has picked the winning horse.

A very tiny percentage of Hispanics, legal or otherwise, ever attain a college education. This isn't putting a whole lot of skilled labor in the workforce. Its mainly putting unskilled labor. There are still plenty of unskilled jobs out their.

Here's a guy that gets all huffy when somebody thinks he says something he claims he didn't say but yet, himself, has the capacity to adduce the intention of the President on immigration. It is obvious to any sane thinker that the President is doing this for humanitarian reasons. It would be unjust to send children born and acculturated to a live in the US back to some dump of a country, say one in the grips of drug lord wars. Of course, we can assume that the thought of browner folk taking power in the US must scare the shit out of racist individuals and comfy white male individuals, no?

Most of those "illegal immigrants" that came here in the past lived by the sweat of their brow. They worked hard for everything they had. They toiled in the fields or did some other labor and made their own way here in the fledgling US. What they did not do is come here and expect free emergency room services, free schooling, free groceries, free housing and free money in amounts greater than what they were contributing to their community.

Just saying.

I hate hearing this phrase time and time again. We invaded the Americas, fought wars and battles with the Indians, and drove them out fair and square.

If illegals want to stay here illegally, theyll need to invade us through bloodshed. I am not going to give up the US this easily.

This...

Most past immigrants adopted to the existing culture here. Most learned english, or taught their kids to speak english. They worked hard and tried their best to contribute to community and to be accepted.

When I lived out in colorado, a friend of mine was hispanic, and he said his grandfather immigrated to the USA. His grandfather didn't even teach his kids the spanish language and made sure his kids grew up with English only. When we went to the areas of Denver which had illegal immigrants, this kid was an outcast. He was called names because he didn't speak to them in spanish. The illegal culture is trying to turn the area into their native culture (mexican?) rather than adopting the existing culture. Not saying that's a bad thing, but I can see why it might annoy/piss people off. My friend didn't care, he just laughed and said "WTF... I didn't even know what she was trying to insult me with. I don't know spanish!" She treated me nice and friendly though. Not sure what her deal was.

why should a law breaker have a chance at a job that a CITIZEN that hasn't broken any laws could have?

Yes you are. And more importantly, your legally elected political representatives, who have a base on the Left or Right, will - and have been for decades now - give it up easily. Willingly.

You realize this exact same accusation is made about every successive immigrant group, right?

There is no logical reason for children to be punished for the sins of their parents. Good idea, let's hope Congress doesn't fuck it up.

Sorry, but your experience in Colorado is not the typical experience of border states/cities where the illegals have basically set up their own 'under the table' economy and culture. I highly doubt an illegal in south central LA really needs to learn english at all to get by.

Effective immediately, young immigrants who arrived before they turned 16 will be allowed to apply for work permits as long as they have no criminal history and meet a series of other criteria, officials said.

Illegal immigrant seems to, by definition, bring with it a criminal history. So I guess this new policy applies to no one then? Who are these dipshits trying to kid, somehow they are law abiding people and don't pose a criminal threat? Except the fact that they broke and are breaking the law just being here. But somehow they are going to follow every other law from here on out, give me a fucking break.

I love the term in this story.

law-abiding illegal immigrants

Exactly what the fuck is that?

Which is part of the problem.
