10 minutes in. In case you missed it...

1) BP bad, look at everything I've done
2) Must make bold new moves regarding energy
3) This whole speech is to push cap and trade and how bad america is because we're not as green as we should be

Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Is there a drinking game for this?

I'm already drunk. I drew "make no mistake"

This asshole had the audacity to bring up WW2 and Moon missions to get off oil and carbon based energy. He even started on "we may not know what is in this change, and it's going to be costly and painful, but we must do it"

That's where I lost it. I had to calm with wife down she was yelling at the TV so loudly.

I only caught the last part of it, but I expected to hear about what they were doing to contain the oil leak. Instead I heard about how scientists and citizens are creating new energy and other things that are distractions from fixing the problem at hand. I am not strongly for or against Obama since I haven't been following him closely but I'm disappointed in this speech.

I'm watching Pretty Little Liars

I expect it to be vaguely similar to the president's speech but prettier :p

So I guess the lame response means folks didn't watch the President's speech from The Oval Office.

Really? Really guys? Really? I mean It's known that I don't like Obama, but did any of you watch it?

I know I did and do. I pay attention to everything he says and does. It's fricking important.

Think of the last times presidents spoke to the people from The Oval Office. Think about it. What are the last events that caused a president to make such an address? This isn't a freaking press conference, this is speaking to The People directly. I withhold any comments on his address only to make sure people understand the significance.

He specifically talked about that during the first part of the speech. It still may have not gone into as much details as you would have liked, but it did have specific steps including deploying 17,000 members of the National Guard to help with containment and cleanup. (Pending the presumable approval of the local State Governors.)

I assume it's a press released interspersed with mentions of how evil BP is and blaming Bush... was I right?

You dont need to listen to Obama anymore. Just do the opposite of what he wants, and youre golden.

WOW! That was weak........even MSNBC is bashing it......he has completely lost direction and political sense........cap & trade at this point, while parts may be needed, would push the economy over the edge......even most Dem. congressmen are avoiding answering questions on it......

There was a presidential speech? Huh. I was busy outside grilling some delicious BBQ chicken on my fossil fueled doomsday machine.
