And if he did show up, you'd see a post by Patranus about how he's wasting time showing up for jury duty when he has more important things to do.
In a way I think he should show up. But you can get kicked off jury duty for various reasons and being president would be one of them. Realistically it wouldn't be a huge burden for him to show up, dick around for an hour or two on his blackberry, and get kicked off somewhere. It would be a big of a dog and pony, though.
Is this what you neocons are resorting to now?
I think I'm a corporatist shill now, but it's hard to keep up. I used to be a flaming liberal when Bush was in office, and I still am on other forums.
It's hard to remember everyone's expectations![]()
I see.
Care to elaborate your position?
Obama thinks he is above the law and doesn't have to show up to jury duty.
Now, if you had a presentation at work and were "unable to make it" do you think the courts would give you a pass? Nope.
That is the definition of special treatment only afforded to the ruling class.
Anyway, non-citizens can't be on a jury![]()
I am glad he (and other politicians) believe they are entitled to special treatment.
So you're saying that the man who has the power to indefinitely detain anyone he wishes, or pardon anyone he wishes, should not be on a jury? That's crazy talk!
again we have patr-anus making up his own commentary that has nothing to do with anything said in the article...
How is being able to opt-out of jury duty anything but special treatment?
Damn the idiots all come out to play on this oen and demonstrate how fuckin stoopid they are!!
Apparently he thinks that only politicians can use "Job Requirements" as an excuse to get out of Jury Duty.Where did you get that?

I think this thread title is misleading.
The article said "won't be able to make it". I'm pretty sure if you're working (or on vacation) away from Chicago, like in Washington DC, the court will excuse you from jury duty.

I think it is amusing he even got picked. I'd assume it was a computer that generated the summons.
