This is true. I worked construction for a few years in Miami. And my boss gave me 2 options upfront - Cash or check ? I chose a check since i wanted to have some work history built up reliably...But took cash the first 2 weeks. The difference ? I recieved around 1-200$ more by going cash.

I was the only beloved patriot on the outfit there and i suspect it was to keep the company from looking to suspicious...As for my "co-workers', they for the most part, could say hello in english and beyond that very little. They took Cash and were definately illegal. Boss didnt care, authorities didnt seem to care either. Dont ask dont tell pretty much.

And people wonder how its possible we have 30+ million illegals in the country...Its because business wants them, and im sure large business's have no problem paying some money to keep local authorities off thier backs if it comes down to it.

Same deal with alot of Restaurants...I was a cook at a large restaurant in Ft.lauderdale, and I recieved a check [no cash option for me there], but the busboys/dishwasher recieved cash. No english skills among them. So this is not a rare occurence, from what ive seen in any large metro area...probably half of all restaurants employ illegals, and most construction companies. take that for what its worth.

It is true. I was a home builder and saw my subs doing this. And guess what? One guy got killed falling off a roof in one of the crews. Contractor went to jail for 6 months and will be forever broke because the non-work comp fines of $10,000 a day x about 12 employees, the IRS fines, the board of contractors fines can not be dismissed through bankruptcy court.

Like I said shit birds and dumb asses don't play by the rules and can get burned. Lucky for me I did have work comp and liability policy just in case such an eventuality.

One trick they do is get work comp in just themselves and pay rest of crew cash so I have no way of knowing when I call in to verify.

But bottom line is that is a very small segment of illegals. Most work at legit enterprises and simply switch employers every 6 months when questions about I9 comes back. With an Instant i9 check this would not be the case.

It's tough to do it and should depend entirely on the circumstances. If you're a criminal you should certainly be deported, for example.
Technically they're all criminals so thery all should be deported. As I said earlier in the thread it wasn't I who invited them to the party. All the damn border states like that cheapo labor to mow their lawns and clean their pools instead of having to pay a small businessman a living wage to do it
Huh? Why would you deport American citizens?
Why would you keep them here if their parents are in Mexico? Show me where it is written that if you sneak across the boarder and drop a kid you have the right to live here.

Im sure it is more blatant in S.west states as opposed to Florida, as were not a border state. take that for what its worth.

Hiring an illegal is like cheating/lying. If your competition starts to do it then they will put you out of business unless you do it. That is why there should be jail time for people who hire them. It would damn soon stop if some employers had to go to jail for 10 years.

You're living in a fantasy world.

Yeah whatever Vic I'll take that no argument as conceit. No matter what you have to admit insta I9's would be better than nothing if only legit places, which you already admit would conform.

Pretty much. More ICE raids not on illegals but Business owners. The business world is a small one, it wouldn't take many busts locally before word got out.

You didn't say instant I9's would be 'better than nothing,' you said it was a solution to illegal immigration that would make deportations unnecessary.

Bullshit. What is this crap about 'deporations' ? It's a total strawman and not needed. All you have to do is implement instant i9 checks like credit agencies use. With no one able to hire them they would go home having no jobs or access to social welfare.
