Obama can't be that idiotic. he does that then the dems would be done. a large portion of the US fish's and hunts. Its not just rednecks either (before some idiot says it).

but its good to see its debunked.

I grew up in ca, momma a libural university professor:twisted:, have a masters, been all over the world so I guess I'm "cultured", and the okies say I'm more redneck than them.:D What would trip you out is all the black rednecks I hang with from Boynton it's attitude and enjoying outdoors that's all.

Last year we went fishing I brazil for peacock bass and those crazy fuckers swim in water with parana fish. I did that too.

Nah I'll just noodle.

This is now officially a fishing thread. Want bipartisian effort? Get lefties and righties to talk fishin'. Ain't no politics in fishin'.

Some states limit the number of poles you can take on the boat or how many you can have in the water. I don't really like that but I'll abide by the state/county/water rules as I know it's in the best interest of sustainability. I could easily not pay any mind to these rules with little to no penalty just like a speeding ticket.

I like to take about 4-6 poles when I'm lake fishing here in KY/TN/AL/WV and FL. One light setup for crappie/bluegill. Another for bigger fish, and thanks to my dad and many guide lake fishing along with open salt water I'll have garcia reels. I've lost too many big fish to spinning reels but mostly my fault for not setting the drag properly. I just like the ability to control the spool and it was the way I was raised to fish so that's that. Baitcast me for control and feel, spinning for some ease I split my rods/reels about 50/50 because I can sometimes get "professional overrun".D:

The other 3 poles are a variation of feel and lures and I don't have to think about changing lures. I just toss what may work given conditions. No bite, means no bite. Time to change or move.

I have 3 boats, two docks, can fish off my back porch too but I buy the cheapest rod and reel setup at walmart a dozen at a time. They get lost, overboard, stolen off my slip, and stepped on and broken. - especially after Crown starts getting split:)

When the bite is that good, it doesn't matter what you use.

Crappie mainly pop only once or tow...very elegant and polite fish making them hard for novice but once you know what to look for no prob -- the cheap lightweight graphites $4-6 I can catch twice as much as my buddy who buys $400 falcons. He's like that though $350 sunglasses, $400 poles and can't catch shit.:p

Only thing that pisses me off is when I step on his poles or grab one of his and snap it setting hook of fish he didnt see (usual) is he tries to make me buy his overpriced stuff. Nope.

Wait, you stepped on someone else's equipment, broke it, and then refused to replace it?

Absolutely. He's on my boat using my gas and knows the risks involved with that by now. You go with Zebo Caveat Emptor and all that. You have to understand he's one of my best friends too so it's cooler between us than it sounds:)

So you paid for breaking it the first time and laid out the rules afterwards or did you warn him the first time around?

Of course I paid for first one and told him he's an idiot for buying high end poles ...buy the cheap stuff. He told me I'm an idiot for always breaking stuff and it goes on to this day. It's all good we laugh about it actually.

I'd be more afraid of some of the huge ass catfish in Lake Eufaula than I would piranha.....let's not even talk about the god damned Alligator Gar. One of those fuckers caused me to break some ribs when it surfaced in front of me and I ran over it while skiing out in the open area between the dam and the "island."

I hate gars. Nasty prehistoric fish. I'll normally just cut the line than dealing with the toothy end of them.

A few years back an alligator gar was take not too far from here that was 298 lbs and 7'-11". That's a big freakin' fish, didn't even think east/central Tennessee had gar that size anymore.

The wife and I use ultralight almost exclusively. A four pound bass feels like a shark, and a big catfish or buffalo has to be pursued to bring it in. Even bream and stripe are lots of fun.
