Obama must be licking his chops right now

He's going to destroy, no obliterate, Romney from the face of the earth in this upcoming election. The sheer amount of flip-flopping that Romney has done over the years on so many core issues is just astounding. Was for abortion before he was against it, liked the FED before he disliked it, etc. There is simply no way in hell he stands a chance at being elected after Obama and his political team skewer him alive. The whole Kerry situation will pale in comparison.

To top it all off, Romney is a MORMON. His own Conservative base will have next to no enthusiasm for him and it wouldn't surprise me if many Evangelicals sit this one out. Especially if polls show a clear Obama lead.

Now I am beginning to see why there are no big ticket GOP names in the race this year. Nobody wants to go up against Obama and his team. With the economy slowly inching towards signs of recovery, we might see a very easy Obama victory in '12.

Romney's actually a pretty strong opponent if he makes up his mind to play it right. He can play up his executive experience, his business experience, and that he's made pragmatic decisions for the best of his state - in other words, he will get things done.

OMG, Obama's awesomeness in unbeatable! He will steamroll the Republican House and the newly elected Republican Senate and be even more powerful then when he had both under Democrat control!

Romney's record will destroy him. He will say anything to get elected. If there's one thing Republican voters desire in a candidate it's true authenticity. Romney sorely misses the mark, which is why he can't crack above 20-25% support from his own base. This despite the overwhelmingly poor selection of candidates this year.

You act like Obama is some weak candidate. He is not. His political team is top notch and his war chest is ridiculous at this point. Once the GOP nominee is selected you will see what I'm talking about.

Just because he sucks doesn't mean that Romney's electable.

I wish there were more Republicans who know that he would raise taxes. Romney has made up his mind and that's to raise taxes.

Just because Romney The Used Car Salesman is a pretty sad candidate doesn't mean he doesn't have a shot. That the SS Romney has been able to maintain any buoyancy being so drastically overloaded with flip flops is pretty remarkable.

If someone like George W Bush can get in the White House, then anyone has a shot really. I wouldn't count him out, but I do think odds are Obama is gonna run him through the chipper come November.

Being a known moderate and, meaning no disrespect to his religion, being a Mormon, Romney has by default alienated the "real" Christians and the "real" conservatives (as they see themselves) in his party and will never be a serious threat to Obama because of it.

Unless of course, the Koch's and their ilk mount some kind of stupendous epic multi-billion $$$ Rove-ish/Swiftboat-ish hate and fear disinformation propaganda campaign against Obama the likes of which will set a new standard for what the Repubs are capable of.

OTOH, Obama has his own impressive stable of obscenely rich two-faced backers that win no matter who gets elected. Along with a better informed and suspiciously alert electorate that got burned by the over-reach and disingenuity of the crop of 2010 elected Repub freshmen, a friendlier minority base and his incumbency, well, Obama seems to be the odds-on favorite at this point no matter who the Repubs put up against him.

A diehard fundamentalist Christian will have no problem voting for a Mormon to kick out a Muslim.

You guys forget all of the people who would take anyone over Obama. Do you think that the ultra conservatives who have a problem with Romney being a Mormon want a black to remain president?

What I was saying is when Obama got elected he had a majority House and a filibuster proof Senate majority. In his 2nd term (if he wins) he'll have a Republican House and probably a Republican Senate.
Thanks Obama for screwing up the Democrat majority House and Senate.

Except his business experience was with a company that basically destroyed other companies.

What polls are you looking at? Everything I've seen indicates the Democrats will hold the Senate (albeit closely) and gain a large number of House seats. You're way off base.

The problem is how BADLY do Conservatives want Obama out of the White House. That's really the question here, and let's be honest it DIDN'T work before for Democrats with Bush. Everyone agreed that GWB was awful, but the Democratic candidate was so lackluster that it wasn't enough to turn the tide. To win an election, you almost always need a candidate that energizes their respective base. To beat Obama, you will definitely need this.

Many people had a major problem with Cain saying he would not appoint any Muslims to his administration. Yet I see many comments saying his mormonism is a major problem. Why is it a problem when Cain won't appoint muslims, yet a problem with Romney's mormonism?

You're not reading carefully. It's definitely not a problem for any Democratic voter. It is a problem though for small-minded, white, conservative voters. You know, the GOP.

Obama will have to somehow overcome his huge broken promises from his first time around. GitMo is still here...Obama still refuses to have a transparent administration...the sun does not have much time to even move (let alone set a few times) between when bills are passed and Obama signs them...he still has lobbyists in his administration...on and on.

I think they balance each other out.

Everyone agreed that GWB was awful,

Everybody didn't agree. I still don't. Obama has been flip flopping since he was elected.

Gitmo closing.
No lobbiest in the White House.
Civilian trials for terrorist.
Supporting the constitution ( reference the recent recess appointments when they were not in recess )

The list goes on and on. Obama is a turd.
