Bam, John McCain should have damn well done the same thing. If McCain has anything left going for him, it's for his often distinguished if uneven past.

Dropping all rhetoric, the McCain campaign should put all in on their own 30 minute "infomercial" because, despite ALL, I still think John McCain is a better man than his own fucking campaign has led him to be.

Make no mistake, the blame for his campaign ultimately rests with him, and I am deeply disappointed both with it and with him. :(

And he probably has no shot.

But letting the crusty old out of touch codger possibly reach back and somehow show us the guy who originally stood up to Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy and tried his damnedest to tackle campaign finance reform and who renounced the endorsements of fat fundy haterz gotten rich and powerful on their bent Old Testament vindictiveness -- if that guy even still exists -- it's his only damn hope of anything.

Talk to me when McCain can at least admit that invading Iraq was a mistake.

Not saying anything about the current McCain, but people can be brutally wrong and still be honorable people.

"There are more things on heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamnt of in your philosophy." -- Willy S.

Especially on P&N, we demonize and look down on those who disagree with us.

That's why so many of you think Butterbean HAS to be a parody poster because you think that no one who could occassionally write that well could have such bedrock opinions as he has.

Intelligence != wisdom.

And intelligence and horrid veiws are simply not mutually exclusive.

They just aren't.

Here's a good price on a medical donut for all those sore GOP assholes to rest on for the next week.

McCain would have bought a 30 minute ad too, but he only has 30 seconds worth of attacks to air on any given day.

I actually Felt that was a great way for a candidate to get his message across.

John McCain should have done one, but that would have required a coherent message that you could build on for 30 minutes to crescendo without bashing your opponent.

Yes, unfortunately, there are. I'll give you, i'll give you, I'll give you and I'll cut your taxes. Bulllllshittttt. But who am I to question THE MESSIAH.

It was a putrid piece of shit but when you've drank as much of the kool-aid as his cult has, you'll barely taste it.

Honorable? Fine. President? Nope. Too important of an issue. If he can't admit invading Iraq was a mistake, then he's likely to repeat it.

That was one amazing part about it; he didn't mention McCain or Bush once during the entire thing. No negative campaigning.

A completely positive message that's hard to "attack".

All politicians do this. Are you really stupid enough to think everything McCain promises will happen?

Is ABC racist for not airing it?

it's an infomercial -- it's only airing on stations where he paid for the air time.

yeah, but lets be honest here, he probably got a BIG discount from these liberal networks... There, I said it.....

At least I don't think that the Muslims paid for it like half the people I work with do :(...

From what I understand, Fox was the first to take him up on the offer, and gave him the bare *minimum* price for the time slot. The others stations just followed Fox's lead, not to be outdone.

I believe stations are legally required to sell time for the minimum price for presidential campaigns.

what do you expect, they are all Whores for the almighty $. Its not everyday someone calls a primetime station and wants to buy a 30 minute block in prime time. All the advertising execs probably messed their pants when they signed the deal

Responds McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds: "As anyone who has bought anything from an infomercial knows, the sales-job is always better than the product. Buyer beware."

Yup. McCain has made the same promises. Where they differ is in who gets the Tax Cuts.

Looks like ABC originally turned it down but changed it mind but Obama decided not to air it with them - http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/bl...0/_tonight_at_8_t.html

Well technically at the beginning he did mention Bush, although not by name "final verdict on eight years of failed policies" in regard to the recent economic issues. But overall yes it was a rather positive video that I think did a good job of getting his message across.

I'm much more interested in how this will affect the polls though. Be interesting to see if they go up for Obama after this.

Forgive him, he was hoping for change.
