That is a logical conclusion. Wiretaps are approved by a FISA court, upon presentation of a probable cause. Since Trump has told everyone that there was a wiretap approved against him, there is a record of the reasons out there.

I just wanted some clarification as to whether or not this was speculation or based on some actual knowledge as I hadn't seen anything in my usual media haunts.

No, I know what FISA is. I meant a link to something regarding any Trump tapping being FISA granted.

It must be true because Mark Levin, Breitbart, Newsmax & the rest of the right wing fringe whack media who aren't enemies of the people said so.

Alternative facts, baby!

Amusing thread evolution.

"crazy tweets by hitler" > "this never happened, nothing to see here" > "if true, the leaks are dangerous" > "even if it did happen, what was illegal?"

You clearly aren't paying attention. It still didn't happen. Obama didn't order anything. Trump has not provided proof to the contrary. You're comprehension capabilities could use some tuning. See that's what Trump claimed.

FISA is not for US citizens, they only get wiretapped if they contact foreign actors against whom there is a FISA warrant. If Trump got wiretapped it's because he himself was stupid enough to have direct contact with foreign intelligence. That means that there is probably a transcript of Trump talking to Russian intelligence about something, and if Trump's people have seen it, so have Obama's, and it's only a matter of time before it leaks.

I too get the sense something big is about to happen. This looks unhinged and desperate, even for Trump. The anemic 'protests' by his dumb as shit supporters seems to add to it all as well.

I think this orange fraud may have paid out enough rope to hang himself, and he's starting to realize it. I'm all for it. The sooner the likes of Trump, Bannon, Gorka, etc are excised from power, the better. Jim Mattis should walk away and enjoy a well deserved retirement full of BBQs and fishing.

How stupid does one have to be to go on Twitter and announce to the world that he was a target of an investigation into contacts with foreign intelligence?

No idea, probably in the 2018 election time frame.
Logic dictates that would be whenever the release can do the most damage. FBI Chief Comey can tell you how effective that can be. ;)

Why wait until 2018?

Before he's even sworn in, release it if our democracy is at stake.

This seems like a grudge more than a national security emergency.

I got the latest issue of Miriam Webster. Trump's picture is in it right where it belongs: below the word stupendous and above the word stupor. ;)

I'm assuming because they had to do their due diligence and verify whatever Intel they collected. Trump himself said that the taps were installed the day before the election.

Jumping the gun and releasing information before it had been properly and thoroughly gone through would likely make it useless in the legal sense.

I know though, I would like answers sooner than later as well but I'm willing to wait if it means they nail this guy and his buddies.

Beats me, but as Senseamp mentioned, that's exactly when the release can do the most collateral damage to the GOP legislators running for election/re-election.

Grudge? I see it more as Trump, in all of his arrogance and ignorance, diverting attention away from himself without pausing to fully understand the consequences of that act. I really don't believe he considered how this accusation of his can backfire in his face with "stupendous" results that may actually help him emerge out of that "stupor" he's been in since being elected. ;)

There will be no coming out of that stupor. Beside the fact it appears to be permanent and irreparable his arrogance won't allow it. He is actually and truly not a smart man. He has had smart people around him his entire life and money begets money. Sigh!

Trump is likely going to end up in prison by the end of his term. I guess if Putin succeeds in making the US another vassal state, then maybe he can stay in power.... but not in a conventional sense. He is too stupid to be head of state, and I think even Putin realizes what an imbecile he is.

Trump is coming undone. Losing his shit and the walls are closing in.

It's always been nuts in a highly calculated way. He intends to hold his base the same way he stole them from the Repubs- with lies, their kind of lies at max volume. He saw what they built in ways they didn't, an irrational cult craving a leader.
