Likewise if he has evidence it is critically important he produce it. Any opinions on Trump or Obama aside, if there were a "Watergate" as described it cannot be allowed to stand.

Clearly I do not believe such hyperbole, but if it were true it must be exposed and he has the absolute authority to release it.
Wouldn't it be an obstruction of justice if he did not?

Based on Wikileaks' latest revelations and Trump's tweets this morning, clearly the CIA was using Trump's TV to spy on him while he spent three hours watching Fox & Friends every morning.

Not a lawyer either but I believe that obstruction would be preventing evidence coming out. If Trump refused to destroy evidence and the like or not comply with a subpoena. There needs to be a legal requirement to obey.

I am also not a lawyer but I'm 99% sure you're right. You do not obstruct justice by not providing information you are not required to provide.

Obstruction IIRC has to do with actively hindering an investigation. It isn't withholding information. If requested by subpoena, withholding it would still not be obstruction, but rather, contempt. Either way, you guys are correct in your ultimate conclusion.

Responses to Trump's extraordinary claims.

Ex-CIA Director says "Trump apparently forgot he was president." . In other words, if he thought Obama had been tapping his phone, why didn't he just call up the FBI or DNI and ask them?

And WTF is going on in the Justice Department? It seems FBI Director Comey has given his boss, Jeff Sessions, an ultimatum: either you and I are on the same page (and Trump's wire tap claims are bullshit), or you and Trump are on the same page (and it's not the one I'm on).

Actions suggest that Trump doesn't know what he's referencing and he certainly has a limited grasp of meaning. Listening in on a Russian ambassador because there was concern of hacking could very well equate to "Obama ordered me wiretapped". His mind is as sharp as a sledgehammer.
I dunno. I honestly don't know at this point if Trump is an evil genius, a business idiot savant, or just a garden variety idiot who makes billions because everyone assumes he knows what he's doing because he's worth billions.

I have to agree in part. Nobody can remain lucky for 70 years, but at the same time his behaviour in that time has been atrocious, ignorant, braggadocios, and pretty much every single synonym of narcissistic. Yet he remains supposedly rich, supposedly business savvy. I dunno, maybe he is some sort of business idiot savant, or more like a marketing idiot savant, because he rarely if ever delivers on promise, just the sizzle, no steak.

You can tell that Comey is a hell of an honest cop by the way every politician in D.C. hates him.

Oh he's mo debintately a narcissistic asshole. I'm just wondering if everybody wants in on his deals because he's Trump, not because they are particularly well-crafted deals. Or maybe he's like Palin, with someone in the background making him look smart, until he starts to believe it and moves on without that person.

Just because he's the world's greatest con artist doesn't mean he can fulfill the role of President in a constructive way. Quite the contrary. It was perfectly obvious to most Americans at the time & will undoubtedly become obvious to even more as this unfolds.

He's not fit to be President. He can't even fake it worth a damn.

To paraphrase: never attribute to conspiracy what can be explained by incompetence.

To me, Trump is the product of what's wrong in America with wealth and the "never say something bad" social contract. This is a man who was born into money, and was never really taught either how fortunate he was or that money isn't everything. His influence kept growing because no one ever really had the guts to tell him "no" in a way that really stuck -- everyone wants to please the boss, and it's hard to criticize someone so self-entitled that he'll sue if you ever say something bad about him. He's not brilliant, he's just a spoiled brat who was coddled all the way to the White House.

And you can tell that being President frustrates him on that front. He's finally in a job where people are not only much more likely to tell him "no," but have the legal right to do so without fear of retaliation. Where he can't use his money to cushion himself from the consequences of bad decisions. He can retreat to Mar-a-Lago every weekend if he wants, but he'll still come back on Monday to protests, court challenges and intelligence leaks.

Ehhh... he might be honest, but I don't think he's done a very good job as director and it seems like he's completely lost control of the bureau. It's like there's a civil war going on within the FBI to leak the most dirt against the side you don't like. A lot of it was directed at the Clintons before the election, now there seems to be a lot of backlash directed at Trump's administration. The FBI aired all of Clinton's dirty laundry in public prior to the election, but conveniently kept all of the Trump/Russia stuff under wraps until recently.

Granted, I think Trump deserves it for lying his ass off and I think a lot of the leaks are actually coming from inside the White House, but it still doesn't reflect well on Comey.

Newt Gingrich last night said something very interesting. We all know for a fact that Gen Flynn was wiretapped. What we didn't know until last night was that Flynn was using a phone at Trump Tower when that happened. So now we know for a fact that Trump Tower lines were wire tapped. What we don't know is by who. I'd say it had to be either by our gov't or by the Russians.

www.fireand reamitchell.com? Where do you find this shit? Seriously. I wonder if there is a hillaryputherteninchpenisupmybutt.com to complement it?

Make fun of the site all you want but the information it reported really did happen.
Really? Where can you point to any evidence or statements that Flynns phone was tapped by credible people? I ask seriously as I have seen no such evidence.

It's bullshit. If they tapped Kislyak, they tapped everybody he talked to. It's not like they just listen to one side of the conversation.

reliable sources are important, not about to click on that garbage.

it has been pointed out repeatedly over the past few days that Kislyak was being monitored at all times and everyone who contacted him was recorded.

that isn't the same thing as wire tapping Trump Tower.

do you really not understand the difference?

just wait till the info on Kremlin money going to Trump and his campaign comes out. who will you blame then?

Yeah it's really hilarious how all these people who pretend to be experts on economics because they watch fox news can't figure out on their own how simple intergenerational wealth works.
