The show of support is great but more needs to be done.

Will Cyclowizard refute these numbers?

Obama Shatters Yet Another Record

by Bonney Kapp
DENVER - Less than ten days after Barack Obama held the biggest political rally in U.S. history in St. Louis, he surpassed his own record in the Mile High City.

?Well over 100,000? showed up to his rally near the state capitol, according to the Denver Police Department.

Looking out at the crowd, Obama said, ?Do you ever have small crowds in Denver? Goodness gracious!?

Awesome. He's going to GOTV more than any candidate before him, not only for the Presidential race, but for the Democratic party as a whole.

The Blue Tide is going to be CRUSHING on November 4th. The GOP will wake up the next morning with a dim realization that the country as a whole overwhelmingly threw out their party from power. Not only will liberals control The White House, Senate and House, but after two terms worth of appointments the Judicial Branch as well.

Thanks GWB, and everyone who voted for him!

Don't get so giddy

The paid Electoral staffers determine the vote not the citizenry.

Some estimates made it 150,000...

I never could figure my State, Colorado, as a battleground this cycle. We've led in the movement away from Repubs for some while- in the legislature, the governorship, and in congress. That momentum won't likely fade now...

We're poised to add to the Dem majority in both the Senate and the HOR at the moment, as well...

Couldn't they get an exact count? People have to pass through metal detectors prior to entering such an event. It would be quite easy to make the counts there ... well, that is unless the street thugs attending left their 9MMs at home for the day.

Why would people leaving their guns at home affect the count? I mean it is pretty easy to make an unsubstantiated attack on someone, are you not even capable of that?

Just listened to the daily NBC network news, they pegged the Denver numbers at only 50,000. I have no idea what numbers are true, but a 3X difference is rather extreme.

Heh. Gotta love the sniping from the McCain crowd, such as it is... their candidate has trouble drawing a big enough crowd for a game of shuffleboard...

I'll take the Denver Police estimate of well over 100K as accurate... they've done this before, and have no agenda other than maintaining order...

the rightwingers are saying there's a free concert.... but why can't mccain do the same? get a free concert to warm up for mccain's speech0? it's not like people would leave after the concert is over if they block the exits...

I have one idea. Driving back from volunteering for Obama in New Hampshire today I was listening to NPR. They were doing a story about a big McCain rally in PA. The free concert warmup act? A polka band.

A state tracking poll from AZ showed McCain was only up 4 points in his HOME STATE.

That should give you an idea of what kind of loss McCain will have on November 4th, when he can't even hold his home state over 5 points.

I never quite got how folks have managed to turn being popular with the people into a negative when they talk about Obama. He's trying to become the democratically elected leader of this country, SHOULDN'T he be popular? We don't live in Iran, last time I checked.

it's the text book Rove attack -- turn your opponents greatest strength (in this case, Obama's popularity) -- into a weakness

I will bet Palin on Saturday night live drew a larger audience, even if they just watched her from their living rooms.

I get WHY they are doing it, but it seems like they're basically trying to carry out the strategy by saying "He's popular...OooOooO" in a scary-narrator type voice and hoping it works. The concept might be pretty Rovian, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.
