Lindsay was supposed to have his headhunting committee issue subpoenas in this shitstorm today but he unexpectedly pushed it over till next week:

My guesses (in descending order of probability):

-Graham knows issuing subpoenas today will have zilch PR effect, being totally swamped by the current protests and whatever dumb thing(s) The Donald twits today.

-Graham doesn't have the votes-among the GOP majority on his committee, or

-the light has come on in his dim head and Graham is going to be a rat leaving this sinking ship.
Optically, is anybody going to take seriously a Senate who did not impeach this president. Now?

Your third option seems highly unlikely. Your first option definitely seems correct as he just had a rant about the “media” trying to destroy this president.

Republicans are scum bags.

well now....

The big twist in this story is the revelation of its true hero: Richard Burr.

Burr was Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and he protected the FBI investigation and pushed it over the finish line, at great personal cost.

Trump and Barr attacked Burr to try to shut him down. They figured out Burr had engaged in suspicious stock trades and tried to use it against him. They raided him and seized his phone to force him to step down as Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

On May 14, 2020, Burr stepped down as Chairman of Senate Intelligence. But Trump and Barr were too late. Burr had already stuck the dagger in their backs before he stepped down: The Report was already finished!

On May 15, 2020, the Senate Intelligence Committee announced that its report on the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation was complete and submitted it to ODNI for declassification.

Trump hurried to install a new DNI to try and keep the report from getting out. But Senate Intel had a plan to protect against that as well. You see, they prepared their own redacted version of the report, and Mark Warner stands ready to read it on the Senate floor.

If you look closely at those two days, May 14 and May 15, you will see that’s when Trump became truly desperate.

Over those two days, Trump announced “OBAMAGATE!!!” in a last, desperate attempt to attack and discredit the FBI counterintelligence investigation.

It didn’t work.

When Trump realized “OBAMAGATE” was a dead end he made one last effort to gnaw off his own leg to escape the trap: He tried to stage a military coup to take over the entire county. Yep, that happened. But that plan too was foiled last night when the military rebuked Trump.

It’s all over now folks. The report is coming out and Trump will be exposed as a Russian asset. Trump is all out of options. His attempt at a forcible coup was thwarted.

Trump is trapped like a rat.

Cool theory, but I’m not buying the “attempted coup” part nor do I think Volume 5 of the Senate Intel report would be so damaging to Trump without anything leaking yet (especially if it’s supposed to be “finished”.) Senate staffers aren’t exactly tight-lipped.

Yeah there have been way too many of these twitter threads over the past couple of years that have lead to nothing.

Interesting thread. But before I believe this report exists or believe it will have an impact it’ll actually have to be released.
I hope it's true but I, like you have to see it to believe it.

I don't think there's a single person on planet earth who believes a word that man says. Not one.

And like a favorite T shirt I saw said (where can I get one?):

An oxymoron a day keeps reality away

Some people need a high profile lie regular, like a laxative. Those are Trump's base. Feed the base, maybe it will work out... it's his m.o.

Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said Thursday he will block two of President Donald Trump's nominees from moving forward in the confirmation process until the administration provides "adequate reasons" for firing the inspectors general of the intelligence community and State Department.
The move marks an escalation by Grassley after White House counsel Pat Cipollone chose not to explain why Trump had removed the two inspectors general last month, instead emphasizing the President's legal authority to do so.

some more info on this, what will lyndsey say

By the way, what is a "political crime"?

Is there even such a thing? Are there actual laws that govern politicking?

Isn't a political crime just "politics," at least from the GOP perspective?

It's whatever Trump says it is. Right wing propaganda need not be consistent or even make sense when the intention is to confuse.

Some Lindsey Graham gossip and innuendo, so take it with a grain of salt!...

A gay porn actor says he's about to out a senior Republican Senator, initials LG, who is known for hiring gay escorts.

Do it or don't do it, otherwise it seems like disingenuous attention seeking.

yeah i kinda agree here. insinuating, suggesting, hypothesizing...it's all more or less speculative. either put out information that can be acted upon, or don't bother saying anything.

I have this vision in my head of Graham showing up at the White House some while back & Trump saying "Check this out on my phone, Lindsey" while it plays a hidden camera vid of Lindsey engaged in some indiscretions with a cute Dominican cabana boy at Mar-a-Lago... "It would be a shame if this were to get out..."

It's the sort of stuff that's been joked about...how long, exaclty? A very long time. Without actual evidence, any accusations would have no more merit than all those jibes late night talkshow hosts have been recycling for years and years.

This one. Wasn't it after some golf-time with Trump that LG changed his perspective on Trump?

I figure it's either "we have videos", "we will start making allegations about your life style and you will lose the next primary", or "we have gobs of cash and a cabana boy waiting for you in the Dominican when you retire after my second term."

Hmmmm. Biggest Political Crime In American History?
Gee.... I wonder what crime does Donald Trump believe Barack Obama committed?
And, a crime Trump describes as the biggest In American History?
Lets see here.... the operative words are IN AMERICAN HISTORY.
So..... I'm trying to figure this out since Trump himself will not say the actual crime.
"IN AMERICAN HISTORY"
"IN AMERICAN HISTORY"
"IN AMERICAN HISTORY"
Well, if Trump is talking about "IN AMERICAN HISTORY", lets ask ourselves WHAT EXACTLY has Barack Obama done that would go down in the books as IN AMERICAN HISTORY????
Oh yeah.... I know. YOU know!
Crime? Barack Obama was THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT in American history.
So THAT... no doubt.... is the "biggest crime in American history" Donald Trump refers to.
PRAISE TRUMP!
Once again, Donald Trump has figured this out ALL ON HIS OWN. That.... in Trump's mentality, Barack Obama became the first black American president. And that, for someone like ALT-president Donald Trump """IS""" the biggest crime in American history.

See kids, if we work together we can figure this out every time.
We can figure out where these Donald Trump allegations are coming from.
Donald Trump is a full blown racist.
Mr. ALT-Trump is so pissed off that Barack Obama was the first black president in American history, that Donald Trump feels it worthy of investigating.
Ring Ring Ring.... Incoming Call For William Barr

Other than several of the highest ranking members of the Obama administration being involved in a false and illegal surveillance operation and "collusion" hoax against a political opponent, I guess nothing. I guess Obama was the only person not in the loop?
