Obama checkmates himself on sequester

Day 3 of the Sequester. I don't see 170 million people out at any soup lines yet. Things still look okay, but I'll keep an ever vigilant eye out for the expected disasters.

I don't recall you doing such a countdown after Obama's massive tax increases caused by the partial termination of the temporary Bush tax cuts on less than the wealthiest 0.01% of the population. Don't so-called tax increases get you worked up as well?

Why is it when our taxes went up 2% in January it was no big deal; but, when the planned increase in the Fed's budget went down 2.4% in March, it was a disaster?


Want a solution? Want to lower the Federal Budget and increase tax collections? Wouldn't be hard. Legalize Marijuana and tax it.

Why haven't we done it already?

The people who build prisons also have an interest in there being large numbers of inmates."

With solutions available, its pretty clear that the current manufactured budget crisis is just another symptom of government greed.

For the record I do not smoke pot. That being said, I don't like the way government finds something opportune and decides that is what they will make into their next big revenue stream. It would be very easy to legalize marijuana, tax the shit out of it, and make it a giant burden just like cigarettes have become. It's the roundabout way of banning it while not having to deal with the masses.

I do not like how the government has taken this approach with alcohol and cigarettes, even Obamacare went after tanning salons. It's not right. It's not American (at least I don't believe it is).

Why? There are surely some things that we waste money on, but there are also many things that are highly beneficial to us all. A blanket, across the board cut is probably the worst way to cut spending.

Granted its only a quarter billion. But coming shortly after the President claims that the janitors are taking a pay cut, his education secretary claims that teachers are getting pink slips, and DHS cuts loose undocumenteds (illegals) due to lack of funding, it seems curious.

Nonetheless, after the fiscal cliff crisis and the sequester crisis, one thing that I am confident of is that it won't be long before the DC politicians manufacturer another crisis...

At least Saturday Night Live got some laughs out of it.
