lol if a republican does it, he's a homophobe. When Obama does it, it's intelligence, wisdom and pragmatism.

There are a lot of things that need to be done. His agenda can't be rushed through in one vote, so it is a matter of timing for him to be successful. I don't see him as being opposed to it, I just don't think the timing is right.

Is that going to be the common response when Obama backs away from his campaign bag of goodies? He is showing wisdom for lieing to you the masses for their vote.
I will agree with you he has wisdom, but probably not in the context nor the intent you wish![]()

They won the election.
...and are now concerned with future elections.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

loki has been severly critical of Obama lately. I wonder why.
Maybe because he isn't drinking the BHO koolaid and can see Obama for what he is - just another chicago politician.
And what have you been drinking the past eight years?
Nothing.
I most certainly have been critical of Bush over the last 8 years for what I feel he's done/doing wrong.

is Obama taking the first steps towards backing away from and "clarifying" his position on DA/DT, or am I being paranoid?

No offense but in the grand scheme DA/DT is not one of the major issues facing the country right now.

Of all the things facing the nation, that one falls at maybe item #914275128941526323 of things to be done.

You're right, dealing with institutionalized injustice in government is so 20th century. Let's move on to bigger and better things.

First, I'd guess 50% of the population disagrees with you on whether it's injustice or not. Even if we assume for a second that it is, then it still falls so far behind the economy, war, jobs, energy etc etc etc, #914275128941526323 might be too high up.

Yes we get it, if he sticks to his pledges you call him a socialist, if he moderates his positions he's a hypocrite. It's not like you'd support him either way. Or perhaps you weren't listening while he was running when he said change doesn't happen immediately, that it will take time, that we need patience, that there will be false starts and set backs. Only righty wingbats who call him the Messiah expected some monumental immediate implementation of communist ideology. The rest of us were quite aware he is a politician and has to deal with Congress.
Rush & co are so busy criticizing before he even takes office. "His policies will destroy the country!" When Obama then hesitates before implementing the very policies they are against, instead of complimenting the caution they cackle, "Ha! He's a liar and a hypocrite!"
So when you have something legitimate to complain about, you know, when he starts destroying our civil liberties, appointing woefully unqualified people to vital national positions, starting unjustified wars, condoning torture, and abusing executive privilege, then feel free to vent.
But you'd better come up with something better than quips that he isn't leaping to enact every campaign promise (before he's even sworn in) in the midst of the greatest economic crisis in generations.
