I'm more excited that Bush is leaving than Obama is coming in.

We've all seen that, thats what makes it a great internet forward for my mother. It does not make it hilarious or insightful or clever or true.

The OP has to stop listening to Rush.
I'm never listen to Rush, but no doubt Rush
and his radio show is what is making you ill.
Rush is the only obsessed one.

I voted for Obama. Originally wanted Hillary. She would have been good too.
Whether its the fist black, or first woman, history making is what it is.
So deal with it.

Like I said, I voted for Obama, but I just expect this man as president
to do his job and do it right.
If others get caught up in Obama-mainia, that?s fine with me.
It doesn?t bother me. I realize this is history making.
But we are putting a new admin in power, a new boss, and that is
how I look at it. He was the best for the job, and now he will have
to do that job. That?s all. Don't get your shorts all twisted up over it.
And for God's sake, turn off that Rush idiot.

Oh... Have to add to those that keep saying or suggesting Obama is not really black enough. Or calling this the first black man voted president is an inaccuracy.
Look at it this way...
In the 1960's in the south, and sadly other places, if a black man walked into
a drug store and sit at the "whites only" seating area of the counter, there would be
no questioning him if he was black enough.
If Obama had been there and would have tried sit in the ?white only? seating section,
well... there would have been no question how they would have treated Obama
in that drug store.
THAT should put to rest any question "is he really black enough".

Obama may be overhyped, I agree with Red Dawn, we are more happier to see the end of GWB, but so far, Obama seems the man with the plan, making all the right moves, ready to hit the ground running on 1/20/2009. But Obama is likely to inherit the most screwed up US economy in American history, and desperate times call for desperate measures. Sometimes prior damage is fatal, the good ship USA like the Titanic may be taking on water too fast for any pumps to cure. Are at we at that point yet, where all all roads lead to ruin? We can only hope not.

But if we think we can undo prior damage in four or eight years, we are only kidding ourselves. Staying afloat is something to settle for.

I never have considered him the Obamessiah but he is the first minority president after 230 years of white boy rule so I can understand making a big deal of it.

Oh, let me be clear. I voted for Obama. I'm glad he won over McCain, so my sentiments are not "sour grapes" as far as his thumping McCain goes. What bothers me is that so many members of the populace seem to view him as the second coming of the Messiah and that it would appear that they aren't going to be viewing him with skepticism and distrust, which is the light in which every politician should be viewed.

Is it sour grapes? I guess my sentiments are sour grapes to the extent that I didn't really like either of the two candidates and wish that we had elected someone who will end illegal immigration, mass immigration, foreign outsourcing, and H-1B and L-1 visas. In other words, while I voted for Obama, I'm feeling a little ambivalent about my vote and the choices available to me since I doubt he'll be able to fix the economy and might even make things worse (hello illegal alien amnesty).

But I don't listen to Limbaugh; I just listen to NPR clips in streaming Internet audio over my wireless headphones while cooking or doing the dishes, etc.

I'm tired of all the people fellating him already when he hasn't even been inaugurated yet, but they are small company compared to the people who have been blaming him for everything from the economy to their arthritis, and he hasn't been inaugurated yet.

The haters can start complaining tomorrow at noon, EST.

I voted for him, and I don't expect to agree with everything he proposes or does. I do, however, expect him to not be a colossal fuck up, like W. I also believe that he actually has the best interest of the country at heart, and will actually act that way.

Lets see now... Your buddy George Bush, took the first budget surplus in my 30 years of life and turned it into record deficits. Obama has the monumental task of fixing the HUGE mess we are in, and to Lemon laws post, you reply he is making excuses?

what the hell kind of fairy tale world do you live in? You realize to destroy is easy, to build is extremely difficult. Bush took 8 years to destroy us. you think anyone could rebuild it in just a few years? As for blaming Bush, its not just blindly blaming... People are saying its Bush's fault, BECAUSE IT IS BUSH's FAULT.

I will say this... Obama, in the past 3 months as presifent elect has shown 10x the leadership Bush has as the actual president. If you cant see that, you are far too gone down your partisaned road.

good luck with that outlook. that is the kind of thinking that lost the reps the house, senate, and presidency.

Wait.. you are criticizing Bush for deficits.. yet Obama has proposed one 3 times what Bush's highest was. And Bush's highest were in the past 2 years which DEMOCRATS controlled congress. What is the 10x the leadership Bush has shown as well? He has said 'change' a trillion times and made a ton of campaign promises he can't actually keep? He has written a couple books about his life? He has voted present? He's put a bunch of Clinton people back into Washington? Where's the leadership exactly?

Obama promised he would fix this shit. No excuses.. stop making them for him. If Obama is as brilliant as you seem to think he is, 8 years is a LIFETIME.

How does he compare to Tim Tebow? Can spending 20 minutes with him make you a better person?

Tough question. Obama can make baskets from half court while not breaking a sweat. Tebow can run an efficient spread option attack.

Who wins?

I suspect lots of folks are gonna be very disillusioned with Obama unless he manages to pull a magic wand out of his ass very soon after his inauguration...

I think the guy has potential...but no magic wand.

I don't mind the hype at all, as I have the choice to ignore it if I want to.

What i can't ignore is the frightfully horrendous thought of what McCain and the neocons that control him would've done as opposed to what Obama is planning to do.

And for those that whine and bitch about how much deeper in debt Obama's recovery plan is going to take us, please don't forget who was at the helm running our country into mega-deficit. It's those guys and the select few that they represent that actually got us into this freak'in mess in the first place.

Obama wouln't have needed to take such drastic measures if it weren't for Bush and his economic policies and directives which gave his rich elite pals a free welfare ride on his luxuriously appointed tour bus while throwing the rest of the nation under it.

Oh - there should've been an African-American President inaugurated in 1807?

By taking action on the economy, where Bush sits on his ass and does nothing and just lests it fail. But, I am not trying top convince you any more. You are a lost cause and are a representative of what is wrong with this country and more so, what is wrong with the republican party. good luck with your anger and hate.
