This thread is a travesty. Are there no ATOT oatmeal purists?
Didn't eat much oatmeal growing up, except for those little packets of flavored instant oatmeal.
Now, I'm having a very late dinner tonight: a bowl of oatmeal with an apple, cinnamon, and a little brown sugar. Anyone else become a bigger fan of oatmeal as they got older?
Is it that you got older or that it got colder? I tend to like warm meals like that as the weather outside gets frosty.Didn't eat much oatmeal growing up, except for those little packets of flavored instant oatmeal.

I've always liked oatmeal but, not the instant variety.
Another oatmeal fan here - in fact I'm posting while eating my morning oatmeal with banana and maple syrup. I had oatmeal for breakfast as a kid, moved away from it for a while, came back to it when I had kids. Filling, reasonably healthy and I can do it without thinking.

Love this stuff. Cook it with half water, half milk. Then flavor it up with a little vanilla, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
Too bad it takes forever to cook. I'll have to look into those instant steel cut oats perhaps.

So, how different do the steel cut oats taste from quaker instant oats?
And, if I want bulk, I'll go down to the feed store & pick up a 50 pound bag for about $9

Where do you get the snoqualamie falls oats? I live in the "quah" so I'm just down 90 from the falls. I always eat Quaker every morning but I would not mind trying another brand, especially a local one.
