Oatmeal Snob + hybrid driver. Let me guess, you have a MacBook and an iPhone too ;)

j/k :D

I love the instant stuff. Pop open the package, toss it in a bowl, put in 2/3 cup of water and 1:42 later (yes, I have the time down to the second) and deliciousness awaits :)

No cell phone of any kind...I've never owned any Apple product...and no tree-hugging Prius in my fleet...

BUT, if I'm gonna eat oatmeal, that "single-serving" powered crap they market for children just ain't gonna do it for me. I prefer my oatmeal with some texture.

I've only ever eaten Quaker Oats and I always get the Old Fashion. Ever notice though that the oats use to be a lot bigger?

Lately, my wife got me hooked on putting Craisins in my oatmeal which is especially delicious.

Have her soak the craisins for a couple of hours or even over night before putting them in the oatmeal...preferably in a good brandy or rum...

1 packet of instant maple and brown sugar + 1 packet of instant apple cinnamon + 1mm below the 1 cup line of boiling water = reason to wake up in the morning

I go to the bulk section and buy some combination of:

Quick oats
Raisins
Blueberries
Cranberries
Brown Sugar
Yellow Sugar
French vanilla oat clusters

I like it because I'm extremely retarded in the morning and pouring hot water on a bowl of pre-mixed oatmeal falls within my skill threshold.

I love Oatmeal with raisins and honey, but another favorite way that I usually have it is with vanilla yoghurt, chocolate protein powder and peanut butter, mixed with my oatmeal. It tastes like a creamy peanut butter cup and is very good and nutritious. Good way to start breakfast.

Quick oats...cook on the stovetop for 5 min, serve with blueberries, strawberries and milk.

No need for sugar, maple syrup or butter. Yuck. That's tantamount to spoiling perfectly good black coffee by adding cream and sugar.

I love irish steel cut oats, but it takes so long to cook.

If I want oatmeal in a hurry, rolled oats with a little milk, strawberries, and sugar will do the trick as well.

So Aldi at one point sold something called quick cook steel cut oats. I bought a few canisters (they were cheap too) and damn if they aren't awesome. Takes about 5 minutes to cook and they taste very similar to full on steel cut oats. I think Trader Joes may sell something similar, not sure.

First of all you insult my intelligence to think I would even consider one of those "foofy" spreads. I only use real salted butter. Lastly, butter on oatmeal is like a white guy walking around in Harlem after midnight - it just doesn't belong there.
