I eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning (even in the summer). My oatmeal of choice: Walmart-brand Maple and Brown Sugar. Yummmmmmmm.

3/4 cups of Quaker whole grain oats, microwaved for 2 minutes with milk and sugar. Add Hershey's chocolate syrup to taste. :hmm:

Brown sugar or honey, sliced bananas, a bit of heated milk, and blueberries.

Prepackaged oatmeal (other than plain) is usually terrible.

Can't eat them in the summer, but in the winter I love them with a little cinnamon and sugar free maple syrup to add a little flavor

I love irish steel cut oats, but it takes so long to cook.

If I want oatmeal in a hurry, rolled oats with a little milk, strawberries, and sugar will do the trick as well.

I've been eating oatmeal every morning for most of the summer. I like Quaker with brown sugar, raisins and some milk.

That's how I do mine, except add some raisins if we have them. On occasion I'll cook down slices of apple in a bit of butter with cinnamon.

Me and the wife throw in nuts and fruit. The nuts go in the whole time, fruit at the end. Types of nuts we choose from: Almonds, Pecans, Walnuts. Types of fruit: Raisins, Craisins, Apples, Strawberries, Blueberries. My wife and kid put vanilla ice cream on theirs, but I use 1% milk.

Once in a while I'll whip up strawberry banana oatmeal. It sounds a little over the top but I'll put in slivered strawberries, bananas and a handful of crushed walnuts while the oatmeal finishes on the stovetop, it's awesome.

Usually, I'll cook up some quick oats with a tad bit of cinnamon and syrup, so good.

Yeah man I eat oatmeal everyday. I just stick with the Quaker instant kind in the small packs for simplicities sake since I make it at work. My favorite is the Raisins & Spice but I try not to eat it too much since it has a lot of sugar in it. I usually eat the 'weight control' kind since it has a decent amount of protein and fiber and just 1g sugar.

I never could stand the packaged "instant" oatmeal they sell for kids.

I like Quaker Old-Fashioned oats, Snoqualmie Falls Oats, and, in a pinch, I'll eat the steel-cut stuff as well.

I prefer mine covered in sugar and a bit of milk. No raisins...no fruit, just oats, sugar, and milk.

It's not so much oatmeal snobs but once you figure out that you can make good oatmeal with similar ingredients...plus the instant stuff looks and tastes like snot to me. But even growing up I never had instant oatmeal, my dad always used the real stuff so to speak. I usually use steel cut oats for my oatmeal and for quick snacks, Bob's Red Mill strawberry granola is delicious especially with some 2% plain greek yogurt. Not so much being a snob as it is making a healthier choice.

I like the Irish steel cut variety.

..and putting sugar, butter and more sugar in the form of syrup in your oatmeal kind of kills the point of it :p

it's like people who dump a gallon of ranch dressing on a salad

Oatmeal Snob + hybrid driver. Let me guess, you have a MacBook and an iPhone too ;)

j/k :D

I love the instant stuff. Pop open the package, toss it in a bowl, put in 2/3 cup of water and 1:42 later (yes, I have the time down to the second) and deliciousness awaits :)

Does oatmeal imply it being cooked? Not a fan of the warm mush. However, most days I'll have raw rolled oats served cold:

.5 cup quaker old fashioned oats
.5 cup milk
.25 cups raisins
tbsp splenda

pinch of salt and some soy milk

edit: a tablespoon of splenda? are you sure you don't mean a teaspoon? Are you talking about the fluffed up stuff or the stuff that comes in the packets?

Yeah roughly tbsp, just using a regular spoon from the large bag they sell in grocery stores.

Oh and you forgot about my organic garden growing in my backyard :p
