thanks for sharing, sounds delicious. Frankly, I have never eaten home baked cookies, but this sounds easy enough, will give it a shot one day

I shall not seek forgiveness, for I believe in my Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Lord and I will never betray him. The day soon will come when the treachery of chocolate chip will end and Oatmeal Raisin will rise and rule the cookie world from its rightful throne.

White chocolate chip and/or butterscotch chip cookies (with coconut).

No nuts in cookies needed. Ever.

Oatmeal is good for breakfast; not so much in cookies.

The best cookie with white chocolate is white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I always add more cinnamon and at least an additional half cup of raisins. Use a heaping teaspoon for each cookie. They come out small, high and soft.

SIFT:
2 CUPS FLOUR
1 TSP BAKING SODA
1 TSP SALT
1 ½ TSP CINNAMON

ADD
2 CUPS OATMEAL (I use old fashioned oats not quick oats)
½ CUP BROWN SUGAR
½ CUP SUGAR
1 CUP CRISCO
2 EGGS
1/3 CUP MILK or BUTTERMILK (I always use buttermilk)
1 TSP VANILLA
1 CUP RAISINS
¾ CUP WALNUTS

DROP ON GREASED COOKIE SHEET

BAKE AT 375° FOR 12 MINUTES – DO NOT OVERBAKE

It's an old, old recipe so I try to use ingredients as close to what would have been available at the time. I bake them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

hell yes. oatmeal raisin walnut. best cookies on the planet.

There are certain things that should never be measured in cookies. Those are the little bits that make the cookie good such as the peanut butter chips in my chocolate drop cookies (I dump an entire bag in) or raisins in an oatmeal raisin cookie.

This is the oatmeal raisin cookie recipe that I use, and I've gotten nothing but good remarks about it:

As for preparation, what I do is put it in the freezer (as mentioned in the recipe), and when I take it out, I ball it up and put it on the cookie sheet. Although, I have had one person complain that they didn't like how thick my cookies were. If I flattened them out rather than left them in a ball, they would be thinner; however, I like them thick. 😛
 
I'm sorry, but crappy shriveled grapes and wood chips flavored with brown sugar are no where near as good as a chocolate chip cookie. I have the recipe I picked up from a hotel in Chicago and make cookies the side of saucers. It's a good way to down 5000 calories before you know what hit you 😀

Probably already been mentioned but WHY does it have to be raisins? Oatmeal raisin cookies are great... as long as I manage to pick all the gross shriveled raisins out of them. Why can't they make oatmeal chocolate chip... or plain oatmeal?

Raisins have no business being there, whats the point? How about oatmeal dried apricot cookies... or dried mangos... just as bad and meaningless as raisins. I guess its just old people ruining foods as usual. Just GOTTA have fruits, oats, or bran in everything!

Fiancee loves Chocolate Chip cookies.

I work full time.
She doesn't have a job anymore since the factory she was at closed down.
She now handles all the grocery shopping.


We have chocolate chip cookies in the house on a semi regular basis.
We have oatmeal Raisin cookies if/when I get them from my grandma once a year or so.
