Oakley Sunglasses

Good sunglasses are, IMO, much better than the $10 kind. A noticeable difference in eye protection. Something I can actually notice, makes driving during sunny days into a much greater pleasure.

Their X-Metal line is the best. You really need to try any of the styles which have that nose bridge in the X shape with the two rivets. That would be the Juliets, XX, Penny, & Romeo2.
The metal frame is very durable, and fits so nice.

Heh, the guy on the website here looks like he's wearing paris hilton sunglasses 😛

There's no way i could justify buying such nice sunglasses, too easy to lose, too easy to scratch/break. Walmart has polarized for $10, pretty nice for the price. I still worry about losing them for some reason 😛

I love my square wires. They are a bit expensive, but I splurged on them (and did Rx to boot). Nothing has the same feel as these quality wise. Nor anything look as good.

I would think they'd slide off easily with those straight earpieces ... when your head's sweaty and slippery.

No they don't, they have a tight grip because it has this spring hinges or something.

Unfortunately yesterday I had them on top of my hat. my hat came off accidently with the glasses. Glasses hit the floor and one lense popped out.

I freaked out, but then looked at the lense and it was fine. I just went ahead and put it back... Oakleys rule.

I have a pair of the Fives 2.0 for a good while, but one of the arms broke in half when they fell off my head. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement arm?

Costa Del Mars are my favorite, but I do trust Oakley to do it right*. I am stuck with a cheap pair until I can afford a new pair of Costas (they were in a bag that was stolen).

* Oakley is part of Jim Jannard's empire. He takes on projects that he feels passionately about, and then makes money at them. His latest project is Red. He is introducing a new, high-end, high-def video camera that is about 1/3 the price of its competition. Check out the Oakley page. The combat boots look cool too.

I wear them because
1) They have very good lenses
2) They have shock protection

Wouldnt wear anything else.

I have a pair of A wires and Why 3's. LOVE them. Build quality is amazing and they surpass the most stringent tests of all lenses. They top the tests and of course you get diminishing returns on higher end stuff.

I need to change the clear lenses in my Why 3's but at £150 they aren't cheap! Sucks that I need prescripted ones.

I also SOMEHOW lost my A wires with prescripted ice polarised lenses 🙁. Thats £130 + £150 down the drain 🙁. I should replace them next year though for summer.

They can get pretty spendy on that site, but my cousin just bought some and they are really very nice and come with a cool lifetime warranty. They are very comfortable and light and if they block UV rays, than . I don't know about $210 nice, but meh, lifetime warranty.

He has these, the blue ones.

i love the serengetis i got at campmor for 50 bucks. the retail on most of them is 90ish and upwards, but theyre often on sale.

i like the imolas, and i had a pair of the autobahn but they werent as comfy for me, great quality though.

One of my friends has had his Oakleys for 8 years and they've held up great. However, I can't see myself dropping all that dough on them considering I don't wear sunglasses.

My first pair of expensive shades were Oakleys, and I regretted getting them. While the hammer and nosepeice material is really good (hydrophillic rubber, highly resistant to slipping while sweaty) I hated how damn soft the lenses were.

First of all, buying something that isn't polarized is stupid (unless you have money to blow and/or are a slave to fashion).

I have a pair of Maui Jims for when I'm fishing. They're coated in a thin layer of quartz, I've dropped them on boat decks and ceramic floors, and they never got scratched. Costa del Mars are also good. Know that glass lenses and metal frames will bump the weight up, some people get headaches when wearing heavy gear.

If you need something light weight look at some Kaenons, their Rhinos are sweet.

I got the Matte Black/Black Iridium Polarized Gascan glasses with prescription lenses. It took a day to get used to the lenses because of the wide field of vision and it is all crystal clear. This is my first pair of real sunglasses since I need prescription lenses and they are not cheap. I am happy with them so far.
